High School Sports Roundup from March 24

SOFTBALL

LaBrae 18, Warren JFK 0 — Leah DeArmitt threw a five-inning no-hitter for LaBrae, striking out 10 in the process. DeArmitt also led the Vikings offense with four hits and three RBIs. Isabella Michael added three hits and two RBIs for the Vikings. Lyla Day struck out five batters for JFK.

Lakeview 26, Niles 0 — Isabella Isenberg got the shutout for Lakeview, striking out 11 and allowing just one hit. At the plate, Kalyssa Werner led the Bulldogs with four hits and four RBIs, including a solo home run in the fifth inning. The Bulldogs broke the game open in the third when they scored 12 runs on nine hits. Mackenzie Stowe also had four hits and four RBIs for Lakeview.

Boardman 7, Cardinal Mooney 3 — Addie Rudge totaled three hits and drove in a pair of runs for Boardman. Gabi Sferra pitched a complete game for the Spartans, allowing 10 hits but striking out 18 batters and surrendering just three runs. For Mooney, Alexis McKinstry recorded three hits and pitched six innings, striking out nine.

Brookfield 16, Badger 10 — Brookfield trailed 10-9 before scoring four runs in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh. The Warriors offense was led by Luciana Kolat and Madison Obermiyer. Kolat added two RBIs and Obermiyer had one. Cassi Samios had a pair of hits and RBIs, and Elaina Boyce also had a pair of hits. Kyleigh Hall led Badger with three hits and four RBIs. Madison Lindus, Samantha Bradbury and Reghan Broadway added two hits each for the Braves.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Cardinal Mooney 18, Aurora 3 — Natalie Blasko had four goals and three assists to power the Mooney offense. Sophia Rotunno, Brooke Campbell and Molly Simons found the net three times each for the Cardinals. Lexi Italiano and Olivia Scott had a pair of goals each, and Leah Hudak added one goal. Ava Weeks and Fotini Pizanias combined for six saves in goal for Mooney.
