Kokrak tied for 7th after first round at Masters

When the final golfer submitted his scorecard at Augusta on Thursday, Warren JFK product Jason Kokrak found himself tied for 7th after shooting a 2-under par score of 70 in the first round of the Masters golf tournament.
Playing with England's Danny Willett and American Talor Gooch, Kokrak carded three bogey's and five birdies Thursday afternoon. Kokrak strung three birdies together on the back nine on holes 12, 13 and 14 before carding four straight pars to finish out his round.
He started off his round with a bogey on No. 1, but bounced back quickly with a birdie on the very next hole. He went on to bogey No. 7 and No. 10, but finished off the front nine with a birdie on No. 9.
The former Eagle is only three shots off the lead as Sungjae Im leads the pack at 5-under after shooting a 67.
Kokrak will tee-off today at 12:57 a.m. alongside Willett and Gooch.
