Fryman returns to Scrappers as manager

NILES – Travis Fryman is coming back to the Scrappers.

The Mahoning Valley Scrappers announced Tuesday that Fryman will be the manager of the Scrappers for the 2015 season. The announcement was made in conjunction with the Cleveland Indians Player Development Staff .

A 13-year Major League veteran and five-time American League All Star, Fryman previously managed the Scrappers from 2008-2010. He has spent the past four seasons as a special assistant and infield coordinator in the Indians’ farm system.

In his three seasons managing, Fryman led the Scrappers to their most recent postseason appearance (2009). During that season, the Scrappers were 49-27 and reached the New York-Penn League championship series where they lost to the Staten Island Yankees in a three game series (2-1).
