NILES -- Lakeview's boys and Hubbard's girls were the first Northeast-8 bowling champions at McKinley Lanes.
Lakeview, led by Michael Altier's tournament-high game of 233, won the boys title with a pin count of 2,823. Altier, who had a 421 set, won MVP honors.
Girard finished second, followed by Hubbard, Struthers and Niles heading into the baker games. The Indians finished nine pins short of Lakeview after three baker games.
Hubbard's girls held off the pack with with 2,509 pins.
Maggie Lewis rolled a 370 set to capture MVP honors.
