DJT has many forks in the road concerning his Iranian war. He continues to take the wrong ones. Secretary of War Pete (Hegseth), along with DJT, keeps wasting billions of dollars, killing our soldiers and alienating our global allies. His bombing of bridges and the desalinating plants will bring war crime penalties. I hope they end up in the Hague. Why do we continue to get involved in wars? Is it too much testosterone? We need more women in government decision-making.

Our leader in Washington has quite the conundrum. Should he follow orders from Saudi Arabia and stop bombing or should he follow orders from Israel and continue bombing? His legacy is looking horrid either way. Here it is in 3 bullet points: 1) Starting another never-ending war (remember George W. Bush and "mission accomplished"?); 2) Failing to reduce costs on Day 1 for Americans as promised; 3) Tax cuts for billionaires (this one shortens the life of Social Security, Medicare and basic senior care).

I am absolutely appalled by the new ultimatum issued to residents at Poland Village Assisted Living. They are stopping the provision of basic necessities like toilet paper, Kleenex, paper towels and trash bags. How are the elderly individuals who cannot fully care for themselves supposed to handle this burden? Is this entirely driven by corporate profit? Our vulnerable seniors deserve basic dignity and support, not to be nickel-and-dimed for essential everyday supplies.

Saw online that the Trumbull County Historical Society is taking its Oktoberfest fundraiser to the Scrappers stadium in Niles. How not surprising is it that Doug Franklin was unable or unwilling to keep this even in downtown Warren. It seems like if an event caters to adults who don't cause trouble and not children who fight and whip out guns or the arrested adolescents that like '70s cover bands, this administration has no interest in keeping the event in the city.

There is good news and bad news for Ohio being voted best place to do business. First the good news. This will bring new investment and jobs. Now the bad news. Most new jobs will not pay enough for families to survive. The additional help, including food stamps, utility payment assistance and other various programs will come from existing Ohio workers and retirees. This is how Texas became business friendly. Friendly to business owners. Not so much to average working taxpayers.

NOT FOUND ON FOX NEWS: Minnesota water hijacked, 47's intel people said Iran did it. He says NO; it was the governor. Trump's war has killed 18 GIs and wounded over 500 and 168 kids killed. He denies these factual numbers. An expensive and deadly war without an end. Bernie Moreno's former son-in-law is an accused wife beater. Bernie never reacted until the press pushed. Now BM calls for U.S. Rep. Max Miller to step down. The GOP has no comment.

Hey seniors, buckle up. Big changes are coming in 2027 to your Medicare prescription drug coverage (Part D). The "wannabe dictator" must not like people on fixed incomes getting discounted prescriptions so he's going to make a change and let his rich pharmaceutical buddies set the prices for your meds but shhh ... he doesn't want people to know because the midterms are coming. You would think by now these Kool-Aid drinkers would know a "deceiver" when they see one.

Trump's proposed ridiculous arc (de Trump) is to be 250 feet tall. The Lincoln Memorial is 99 feet tall. A 20-story building is anywhere from 200 to 300 feet tall. Giant Sequoia trees can reach 250-300 feet. This arc will dwarf the Lincoln Memorial and block views of Arlington Cemetery. It is another cost to the American people. Cooler heads must prevail in preventing this monstrosity.

During last week, I received my Tribune/mail at 6:15 p.m., 5:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. This is absolutely ridiculous. The USPS should either hire more people or at least vary the start times for the routes. I keep wondering why I continue to subscribe to the paper when the news is old by the time I get it. Just a terrible situation! Is there no solution to this problem?

Sherrod Brown says he will make data centers pay for the electricity they use. Brown left office Jan. 3, 2025, and did nothing about data center electrical problems when he was in office. They have been building data centers long before 2007, when Brown entered the Senate.
