Sound off!
Democratic Party, get to know this woman, Darializa Avila Chevalier, of New York, endorsed by Mayor Mamdani. She is one of three communists who won an election as a nominee for the 13th Congressional District. She posted this, which is now deleted, “I forgot to get napkins so I just wiped my hands on the American flag behind me.” This is now your Democratic Party? Disgraceful! As for digging up info on Bernie Sanders from 40 years ago, this is now the norm for this party.

The thing that bothers me the most about the radical left is how they refuse to believe Trump is our one true God. He knows more than all of the experts combined. He ran many businesses and he is very, very rich. And why do we need allies if He can stop all wars in 1 day? We don’t need to worry about the Supreme Court because he will pick them. No need to balance budgets or observe the constitutional balance of powers for elections. In Don We Trust! Habeas corpus? Habeas schmabeas!

Has anybody else noticed that Commissioner Hernandez has a new sidekick? And no, I am not referring to a new Asian spa madam. It’s actually the former behind-the-scenes operator and government trough-feeder, Mike Verich. What angle, what job, what contract and what favor-brokering are in play? Hopefully, this will all be put to rest soon enough. People “in the know” understand the clock is ticking on our beloved commissioner. What’s in it for thee? I look forward to finding out.

Only 29% of Democrats love America, according to a CBS poll; and we know how much you can trust them. The FIFA Cup proves you are crazy. Foreign visitors to our country love America–our food, ranch dressing, our BBQ and Texas. They drink Samuel Adams beer dry, having truckloads brought to the bar. These visitors are singing our national anthem and God Bless America. If you are a Democrat, drop that name; your new party is “progressive socialist.” If you have never lived in or known someone who lives in a socialist country, you are in for a treat.

President Trump has announced he is looking into removing the habeas corpus law. For you who do not know what this is. It is a writ requiring a person under arrest to be brought before a judge or into court, especially to secure the person’s release unless lawful grounds are shown for their detention. Trump wants the right to grab anyone off the street — maybe a judge or someone holding a “No Trump” sign — and make them disappear.

This February our Ohio Secretary of State LaRose, in a continuing GOP effort to placate the our President, recklessly turned over voter registration data including dates of birth, addresses, driver’s license numbers and partial Social Security numbers for 7.5 million voting Ohioans. This is something he absolutely did not have to do. In fact, the Trump Justice Department has been successfully sued 9 out of 9 times with a federal judge appointed by Trump himself most recently ruling in favor of the state of Maryland. In America, states run their own elections!

Atticus Finch says in To Kill a Mockingbird, “Our courts are the great levelers, and in our courts all men are created equal.” Thank God for our court system. Trump has lost about 96% of his frivolous, vindictive lawsuits–an enormous waste of time and money–yet a few GOP supporters still stand by him. That is why voting NO on Vivek Ramaswamy and Husted is warranted. Our country is being destroyed. Are you better off today than yesterday?

How do to get property tax relief in Trumbull County= Vote for new commissioners. What a trio of duds! Property tax reduction of 2.5% is laughable. Bernard said “it’s a huge win,” when realistically its nominal token of help. $4000 annual tax bill saves $100. He can’t be serious that brings relief to retirees on fixed income? Please vote responsibly for commissioners who bring real solutions. Industry is gone. What businesses come are not living wage nor very many jobs.

If it weren’t for mail-in voting, Donald Trump’s votes would not exist. What a hypocrite!

The Olentangy Orange football team ended the 2026 season with a perfect record and went on to win the State Championship. However, it has come to light that there was an ineligible player on the team. Olentangy was fined $10,000 but was able to retain the title. What a poor decision! Once again, money wins. Now, any well-endowed schools can play outside the rules and simply pay off the resulting fines. Sad.

According to the Channel 27 news app, the “Ursuline hazing lawsuit (is) coming to a close.” And what has everyone learned from this unfortunate circumstance? Money wins again! Have any of the accused been punished? Everyone involved in this situation – coaches, school administrators, teachers, Diocese personnel — should be fired and have their certifications revoked. Unfortunately, with Ursuline’s history, this may happen again in the next few years, and the result will probably be the same – a payoff!

I’ve got some bad news for everyone who thinks there is already too much spending on campaign ads. The Republican National Committee just won a Supreme Court case that allows for unlimited spending. So, if you’re already sick-and-tired of the nonstop, Vivek Ramaswamy attack ads, you ain’t seen nuthin yet. Buying political positions seems un-American to me but the Republican supremes just ok’d even more of it.

Did Ukraine solve America’s overspending problem? They have shown the world that, if done right, drones could be an inexpensive way to protect a country from foreign attacks. This could greatly reduce America’s spending on multi-million-dollar military equipment. Just the other day, a $5,000 drone brought down a $100 million dollar helicopter. Maybe we could use the money saved on roads, inexpensive housing for the poor, elderly care and other projects that would help everyday Americans.
