DEAR EDITOR:

Once again, Danny Lee Hill appeals to our government for mercy. Our government has already given Hill years of mercy. He sits in prison with all of the costs of living paid for by the American taxpayers.

His crime was a brutal, savage act of cruelty that showed no mercy to a young boy. Sadly, the family of this boy has had to relive this horrible experience year after year. Where was their mercy?

Hill has repeatedly filed motions to evade the decision of the court, but the brutality of this crime will always haunt his family and our community. Where was our mercy?

A crime of this magnitude touches the lives of so many. We cannot allow mercy to be manipulated. Enough is enough! Hill’s execution will never compare to the physical pain and mental anguish that 12-year-old Raymond Fife endured for hours leading up to his death. Where was his mercy?
