DEAR EDITOR:
Every American needs to turn off their sports channel and become aware of the losses of our democracy now in motion. The old adage: "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." It is not wise to be consumed by one event.
While we have become a nation with our noses glued to the sports channel, we have become connoisseurs of football, basketball, baseball, tennis, boxing and all the rest, that we have seen played over and over again thousands of times, while the government has changed around us.
Government policies may be boring but they will affect your life in every way. It is our responsibility to understand what your government is doing with its policies and how it will affect you in the long run.
Abstract views, in my opinion: "I never vote for the party, I vote for the candidate."
Really? You have now voted for a member of another party. Now, when your party brings a bill to the floor to be approved, that person in the party that you voted for stood with their party to deny your party's bill.
Simply put: A low-information voter gave his team a five-yard penalty.
