Kudos to Meghan Reed and the Trumbull County Historical Society for their diligent work in creating the Museum of Science Fiction and Fantasy Arts. Kudos to John Zabrucky, 1965 WGH grad, for remembering his hometown and donating his many creations from Modern Props, ones that have been seen countless times in films and television shows. His life's work will become inspiration and entertainment for thousands of future museum attendees. Warren is fortunate to be the beneficiary of his genius.

Vienna Township just approved a $3 per hour raise for its road supervisor and assistant and is proposing a $7 per hour raise for its chief of police while being in a declared fiscal emergency. Do township officials understand what fiscal emergency means? It's hard not to wonder how they ended up in this situation in the first place.

The Trumbull County commissioners tell citizens that they understand their struggle with paying property taxes, but do they really? With the skyrocketing of property taxes, under new Ohio legislation, they have the option to double homestead and owner-occupancy deduction. It's a small amount overall, but the county will still get more taxes because of the reevaluations while giving relief where they can.

I lived in a few different Third World countries for four years in my 20s. One stark difference from my "free country" I used to tell the folks there was "My American government doesn't send armed thugs into the streets to intimidate our people the way they do here." Now I wish I could go back and tell them "nevermind". Sad.

Just read that Judge O'Brien ordered a Warren woman to pay a victim $280,375 restitution for an OVI crash at $100 a month. Sure hope she doesn't miss that last payment 233 years from now. What is going on down at the Courthouse?

We applaud the Trump regime using violence against protesters who believe the ICE operations are unconstitutional. We don't flinch when old ladies get beaten down, clergy get pepper sprayed and an American mother is executed for trying to warn other mothers about ICE. Then, just a few days later, we don't bat an eye while hearing Trump tell the Iranian regime,"I will use violent force against you, if you use violence against your protesters."

The Donroe Doctrine has announced to the world that "due to the strength, force and power of the U.S. military, we absolutely rule Venezuela and are in charge of their country without apologies." We are in control of their oil now "to help them become more prosperous." Our terms and conditions must be met in full for the Venezuelan people to restart their economy and begin commerce. Two questions: Who voted for this? Who have the American people become in 2026?

Seven hundred sixty-five job losses at Steward Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital and 170 job losses at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital in 2024. Some 1,334 jobs lost at Ultium Cells in 2025. Fortunately, some of those job losses may eventually be recovered when Kimberly-Clark comes on line. But ask yourself what Sens. Jon Husted, Bernie Moreno, and Rep. David Joyce have done to ameliorate what appears to be permanent job loss at Stewart/Insight and indefinite/permanent job losses at Ultium. You elected these MAGA reps, and you can un-elect them.

Trump has always had a love affair with the enemy of the people aka the "Lamestream Media". There's a reason one can read way more about the Epstein files in European media, namely, a US president cannot give historical tax cuts to European media outlets. The USA versus planet earth is the dumbest US policy ever! Trump's only allies now are China and Russia and even they have condemned the Trump administration! The U.S. population is only 4% of humanity and our economic purchasing power is only 15%. Our "leader" is a fool for mocking and threatening almost every nation on earth. Readers of this post should make sure that they watch the response of the Minneapolis mayor and police chief to the action taken by an ICE agent to protect himself and those around him from the domestic terrorism act committed by a misguided woman. ICE is in Minneapolis as a LEGAL function to protect US citizens from harm from illegal aliens and deport those who should NOT be in the U.S. Shame on Americans who don't stand in support ICE and the laws of America!!

Warren will soon have a new Science Fiction Museum, but hospital facilities are inadequate. Kimberley Clark is building a new plant, but there is inadequate housing in Warren. There will be a wonderful expansion to the Packard Museum, but we're a medical desert. There is a large, well-equipped Wellness Center, but the public is not allowed to use it. Warren has a City Council and questionable administration, but they are outrageously overpaid. Think about these things before the next election.

I urge parents to listen to their pediatricians about their child's inoculations. Robert Kennedy, head of the nation's health, has instituted new rules with absolutely NO medical education, with just his personal wacky opinions. Opinions are not facts.Years and years of current vaccinations have proven to ensure the health of children worldwide against childhood diseases. Following these new rules could endanger their lives. Please safeguard the lives of your children and consult with your doctors.
