Sound off!

Dawn Zinni-Hanni has failed to secure and operate the Trumbull County Recorder’s Office. The computers have been shut down and she has limited access to records. This never happened when we had a real recorder, Tod Latell. Dawn can’t be even found in the office most of the time. She needs to admit that she lives in Mahoning County.

ODOT has created a mess in Howland. Exiting off westbound 82 to southbound 46 is worse now. Traffic backs up worse than it ever did.

According to Ursuline’s response to the latest allegations, “Ursuline’s administration was aware of the alleged concerns … and records indicate the administration handled the alleged concerns correctly under our policies and procedures.” So, “their policy” is to ignore the bullying and assaults, and their “procedure” is to pretend nothing happened? Really? It’s time to change the “policies and procedures” and to discipline all who were involved with this.

A question for the powers-that-be in Warren: Will ALL city streets (even the ones that are not through streets) be plowed this winter within a reasonable length of time, or will that money be diverted to the coffers to pay the unwarranted and undeserved pay raises for City Council members?

Just thinking: Trump says he has built MANY ballrooms; where are they? BTW, who are all these people, who for 150 years, have wanted this new gigantic ballroom? Everyone has known all along that Trump was aware of his friend Epstein’s antics. Has any vice president been more obnoxious than Vance? Has he added anything of importance to helping Americans other than his desire to be president himself. Why are health insurance policies going up so fast?

From Agatha Christie, “Why do politicians treat everyone ‘else’ like idiots? Probably because ‘they’ voted them in.” Funny lines, maybe, but close to the truth. ALL voters have a choice they should fulfill, and that is to vote responsibly, not choosing because of wealth or power, but someone who really cares about both the people and our country’s needs. Our country is in trouble; “rules and regs” are fading quickly as intelligence, respect, integrity and actual kindness are becoming losing causes.

Even more allegations of hazing and questionable behavior within the football program at Ursuline High School have recently come to light. The diocese should have a complete house cleaning of that staff, firing anyone — from the principal to the coaches to other athletic personnel — who knew about the situation but said nothing and even helped to cover it up. Why isn’t the bishop being more proactive in this? Perhaps he should be replaced also. Get the broom!
