DEAR EDITOR:

Trump (or his MAGA handlers) is brilliant. He now wants the House and Senate Republicans to vote for releasing the Epstein documents to give them cover in the hopes of keeping the House and Senate in 2026. Trump says he will even sign it. Then, after the vote, Trump’s DOJ will announce that, as much as it would like to, it just cannot release the files because of an ongoing investigation into involvement of certain Democrats with Epstein. No Republicans — just Democrats.

Absolutely brilliant. Trump is an absolutely amoral, self-dealing, lying, cheating, hypocrite for sure. And, of course, a convicted business fraud and sexual abuser. But we all have to agree that when it comes to avoiding the hangman’s noose, he’s absolutely brilliant. I think it is official. We are the United States of Corruption.
