Shooters observed “target” practicing have already shot and killed one family pet and nearly residents in their own backyards. The shooters live one house down from the crossroads of Route 85 and Route 193 and are shooting across residents’ backyards and shooting toward a church four houses from 193. The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office has been called numerous times by residents and have done nothing to stop the shooters. Residents say they have been told by the sheriff’s department to “produce” dead animals and round casings.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk shows the true colors of the far-left Democrats. Their beliefs are that if you disagree with them, you should be eliminated. They tried it with President Trump but failed. They succeeded with Charlie Kirk. One fool on MSNBC even insinuated he deserved it. If that’s the case, should Rachel Maddow, Jake Tapper and Van Jones be assassinated? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Charlie Kirk debated anyone, even those he disagreed with. Can the far-left Democrats say the same?

As an 89-year-old, working-class American who served honorably in the military, I have seen our GREAT country with GOOD leadership survive some tough obstacles. Today I am EXTREMELY worried. Trump’s, what’s-in-it-for-me mind, scared spineless staff and his advisers have and continue to deeply divide us. Trump is using the murder of Charlie Kirk to stoke the fire. Kirk’s killing was indeed wrong and sad and so is Trump canceling health care for millions of Americans and let food rot instead of distributing it.

The reprehensible comments made in celebration of Charlie Kirk’s assassination are beyond belief. What is wrong with people? A young man with a family was simply stating his beliefs. Now, his wife is a single parent, his two young children will never know their father and our political scene will never be the same. As a longtime subscriber, I feel this newspaper is doomed. I think this newspaper is making changes that are not good for business. First, there is no longer a Sunday newspaper. Now you have taken away the paper carriers. The newspaper is now going to be delivered via the mail. Our carrier was always punctual with early morning delivery. We now will receive the newspaper with our mail which is delivered very late in the afternoon. Not happy!

Murder is wrong no matter who is the victim. Today’s political rhetoric is fueling even more hatred each day. For those against or for Charlie Kirk or Melissa Hortman, a Democrat, to express your opinion is the right to Free Speech! Trump does it daily, and aggravates anger in our nation. Anyone should be able to also express their personal opinions without repercussions, and not lose their jobs. Trump himself is fueling this national divide.

What is wrong with our society? A young man is assassinated for speaking his beliefs, and some are celebrating his death! There is no excuse for this behavior. Free speech, you say? No way. In November 2023, the Tribune reported on Brown and Greathouse going to Beachwood to review their system to record council meetings. In the article, Greathouse said, “I think it’d (cameras) be pretty IMPORTANT to council.” Same month and year, Greathouse introduced legislation to increase City Hall’s pay by 12.5% to 47% and Council’s pay by 89%. Did the money for cameras go to their pay raises? Guess we know what’s more IMPORTANT to our officials.

Nobody deserves to die for having extreme opinions. Charlie Kirk was a right-wing extremist because he believed it was a mistake for America to protect black Americans’ civil liberties from race discrimination in schools, job-seeking or even where they can buy a home. This alone should have disqualified him from the Medal of Freedom. Charlie had some other un-American beliefs, but he proved to be a good enough human being to fight with his words, not violence.
