No, The Biden administration did not plan the Army's 250th parade. The army itself began planning a celebration for its 250th anniversary including a potential parade in 2023. The idea for the parade was presented to D.C. officials in April 2025. The Army's 2024 permit application described a festival, not a parade, with a maximum of 300 military personnel and civilians in attendance. A separate permit for a much larger celebration was filed under the Trump administration in March of 2025.

Biden did a lot for all Americans. Check it out before criticizing. He did not alienate almost every country, nor insult their presidents and then cut off aid where needed to countries long dependent on our help. He was not a foul- mouthed bully. Trump makes fun of Biden's illnesses, the same affecting many. Be careful, President Trump, as Trump himself shows signs of the same conditions, and there might be many ready to then criticize thin-skinned him.

$1,000 per baby! The new Bill creates an investment (Trump account) for each baby born after Jan 25 until 2028. This $1,000 will be FUNDED by the government and will allow parents to add to it over time. What a great way to involve the new generation involved in finance and the markets. $1,000 at birth with $2,000 added per year at 5% average until 65 will end up over $1 million. Great plan for all.

Now that the Big Beautiful Bill has passed all of the hurdles and its cuts target some aspects of Medicaid abuse -- especially illegal immigrants -- my daughter better get knocked up so she'd qualify for the generous benefits for pregnant women afforded by the BBB. She'd gobble up even more government goodies if she got on the child-care craze bandwagon. To top it off, maybe she should quit her job to drop into every lazy, but able-bodied person's entitlement dream: the low-income category.

Deny all you want, but climate change is very real and it is affecting our daily lives every day with more fires, hurricanes, flooding, tornados. Climate change research funding has been cut back, or totally eliminated, putting us at dangerous levels for disasters. This horrific loss of lives in Texas falls on Trump's shoulders and his idioitic dismissal and hatred of all methods that could improve our deteriorating climate. He is fast moving us backward.

Now for the truth about the parade. The topic of a celebration for the Army's 250th birthday came up in 2023. On June 13, 2024, the Army submitted a permit for a small festival on the Mall in June, 2025. No parade mentioned. Trump became president on Jan. 21, 2025. Soon after he brought up the parade idea. In March, 2025, the Army submitted a permit for a parade on June 14. Trump finally got the birthday parade he wanted.

DeWine vetoed tax cuts for hard-working taxpayers because he said "it was too much coming down on the school districts all at once!" Well, he didn't seem to care about all of us getting hit with a 40% tax increase "all at once" in January! So now we know who he's in bed with and it's not his state constituents. We need a new governor who will work for the people paying the bills and not for the lobbyist. It's time for him to go to pasture!

Walking through the Parkman Road Sparkle during its final days brought tears. This was truly a neighborhood grocery store. From friendly cashiers, wonderful bakery and meat departments, to owners, managers and front office staff committed to customer service (one of whom worked there over 30 years, starting as a teen), the store's closing is heartbreaking. Thank you all for your dedication, for your work, as "Mr. Food" said in his signature sign-off, "was ohhhhh, so good!"!

The greatest woke philosophy is the White Nationalist church of Trump. Equality and tolerance must be canceled. Journalists who dare report the preponderance of intelligence regarding his glorious Iran bombings, "should be jailed" for failure to celebrate "complete obliteration," says Lord Trump. When the U.S. Constitution limits our Lord Trump, he ignores it and even seeks his courts to overturn it! Forget about government "by the people, for the people." WE THE PEOPLE must now serve our greedy savior and Lord of earth Donald Trump!

How does Jimmy Haslam get all that money of unclaimed funds for a new stadium when Ohio has so many other needs? Warren is short a hospital with the closing of Trumbull. Money is needed to fix all the defects. When industry finds out that we have poor health care, Ohio will lose out. It is going to be even worse when our doctors retire. Doctors will not come and even now we are short certain specialists. We need money and smart people to get our hospital reopened for the long term, not just a few months.

President Trump's Big Beautiful Bill passed Congress and was signed into law on the Fourth of July. Not one Democrat voted for it. What sane politician would vote no to keep your taxes the same and not rise? What sane politician would vote no to keep the border secure? What sane politician would vote no to keep fraud and abuse out of Medicaid? The Democrats voted no not because it was a bad bill, but because they didn't want Trump to have success. They better start doing what the people want or they won't survive.

As if the story of the demise of Steward Health isn't sordid enough, now there is an allegation that more than $1 billion in payments were made to insiders, including the former CEO. Why is that man not in prison? He defrauded many hospitals, ignored a summons to appear before Congress, and committed crimes against humanity in the way his hospitals operated. He has ruined so many lives! Life in prison is too good for this criminal.

Those who enjoy sailing or white-water rafting or canoeing know that we do it at our own risk. The Trumbull County Commissioners did a proper study about the removal of the dam and the effects. Other communities that removed dams faced more flooding in low areas and some saw bridges washed away. It would cost less to reinforce the bridge. Just because the MetroParks do not want to send money back does not mean we should be forced into an action. Politicians should keep being reelected out of the equation.
