MAGA is using fake news to justify Trump’s pathetic military-style attack on California. If California was a country, it would be the 4th largest economy on earth. As a rule liberal states in the U.S. have better schools, stronger economies, more diversity and lower crime rates than MAGA states. But soon true facts won’t matter, as the Trump administration is systematically eroding constitutional law across this land.

I watched Warren City Council vote on the JEDD for the Kimberly Clark project, with representatives from that corporation in attendance and was shocked on how a few of the council members were dressed. Ron White and James Shaffer looked like they were dressed for a cook out! They’re making almost double for this part time job than they made two years ago and these men can’t buy a jacket or dress shirt? If there is a dress code on the books, the council president needs to start enforcing it.

I am so sick and tired of hearing about neglected and abused dogs on a weekly basis, sometimes twice a week now! For all you morons out there who have an IQ the size of a nose hair, do not get pets. The abuse / neglect in this area is horrific and way out of control! If you cannot afford a dog, a cat, a horse, whatever, do not get one; it’s that simple. They don’t deserve to suffer because of your ignorance or inability to be a responsible adult!

Council met with Chris Alan to discuss progress on his Dana Street plant. Did anyone ask about the Hughes mansion he owns on North Park Avenue? Last year, slow but steady work was resumed on the house. The city admin. should insist that progress is to continue on that project as well.

It’s good that Steward Health is being investigated for improper financial dealings,but this could take years.We need to have all possible intelligent people figuring out how to reopen our much needed hospital because if this goes on much longer, the hospital — Trumbull — will never be reopened-We have already lost so much -reputation, staff, personnel and patients. Before you know it, they will be tearing down the building.

When is someone going to address the intersection at W. Market and Tod Ave???? A quick patch up job every few weeks is not going to do the job! I dread going over that to get to my home. I wouldn’t bring business to this downtown area! Driving past the courthouse at times and the grass is not kept up?! It is beyond any sense of reason why some people are against requiring proof of citizenship to vote. Why is that a problem? It only makes sense to prove that you are eligible to vote, not just by age but also by citizenship. You have to show this proof to obtain a passport, so what’s the big deal? Many are calling for better safeguards at our elections. This is one way to guarantee that!

The library recently announced that it would open a “satellite” library in the Eastwood Mall conveniently located near the children’s play area. Just think of the opportunities this will afford those who choose not to go to an established library location! Good job!

Why in the world were the three mailboxes on Seneca removed? For people who are disabled, who have trouble getting in and out of a car, and for those who have trouble negotiating the steps of the post office, those drop-off sites were a Godsend! Please reconsider this decision and return those mailboxes for those who need better access.

DOGE cut food aid to Third World countries. Trump put together a big spending bill. Jesus said: “Whatever you do to the least of these; you do unto me.” Many voted for politicians who cut food aid without a “least of these” concern. Small monetary donations by churches can never fill the need. Be accountable for the unintended consequences of your vote. Send a recurring monthly contribution to a reputable food aid organization.

The JEDD that officials are trying to get organized in Warren/Howland: Please let me know if I am misinformed, but all I know about JEDD is that the citizens of both Warren and Howland will be levied a tax once the JEDD is established. Kimberly Clark wants to build a factory, but it will get paid for by any employee in Warren or Howland?? How is that fair? Are we going to receive any dividends from the profits of this company? I am all for any company that wants to bring business to our area, but they should have to pay for it themselves. I think the payroll tax I am already being forced to pay is not being utilized correctly, so how can I trust an additional one will be?
