A thought for the day: Hopefully, the companies planning to build in or near Warren won't find out that the area does not have an adequate hospital ... or that medical personnel are leaving the area ... or that this is a medical desert. What a sad state of affairs.

Donald Trump thinks he is God. Unfortunately, many of his supporters agree. These supporters must be blind to his behavior, but they will eventually realize he is really the anti-Christ.

As I read the story about Girard having to raise court costs 10 bucks to cover the loss of revenue from Vienna, Liberty and Weathersfield Police losing their for-profit speed cameras, I shed a tear. Nah, no I didn't. This is basically an admission that these cameras are not for safety but only for dollars. The old term "Highway Robbery" is alive and well.

Star Parker's editorial defending Trump's DOGE rampage firing and cancelling government programs almost blindly across the board, is illogical at its core. The government cannot be treated like a for-profit company because governments are not-for-profit organizations. Absolutely, governments must be fiscally responsible with maximum transparency for a hardcore annual review of checks and balances. But if Trump wanted accountability why did he fire every independent Inspector General and replace each with lackeys who pledge loyalty to Trump? Hmmm.

Kudos to Ken MacPherson who spearheaded an informative and well attended town hall on 4-29. It is admirable that someone in Warren is trying to repeal the large, forever 89% pay raises that city council voted for themselves. These raises should be decided on by the taxpayers. Thanks for your efforts and commitment to Warren.

Please could someone direct me to the gas for less than 2 dollars a gallon. "They" said it is available, but where? Also whoever said that groceries are down must not shop around here.

I received a letter in the mail from Dan Polivka wanting my vote for president of council. I've never felt so pandered to with his list of things he's allegedly done for seniors. All the things he's done for poor people. What a simple politician he is. He's about as complex as a high school kid running for student council president.

Nations around the world have issued travel warnings to citizens planning to visit the USA. Trump's border guards are turning back and arresting innocent travelers from nearly all countries for random reasons such as "failure to show hotel reservations." Trump's thought police are wandering far and wide stopping random American citizens in checkpoints to ask, "Papers, please." Is this a dystopian nightmare of what could happen in America if half of us fell for an endless sewer-hole spewing "too good to be true" promises to make America great again by a con man who never blinks?

Responsible organizations buy insurance to reimburse themselves after a cyber crime. Are the Trumbull County elected officials responsible for money (Yoder, Zinni, Malloy, Bernard & Hernandez) asleep at the switch or will no insurance company sell Trumbull County this coverage? In Bazetta, Yoder vs. Bazetta lawyers will win big fees and taxpayers will lose big money.

Wake up Warren! We the people, have an opportunity to right a wrong. A petition to repeal the large pay raises is being circulated so that Warren's residents can vote on whether they think city council should have voted themselves a 89% raise. Thanks to Tina Milner, Jeff Walton and Ken MaPherson who spoke at the informative town hall on 4/29. It is refreshing to hear candidates who care about Warren and who want accountability, safety and transparency.

The weasel financial overcharges have begun again, just three months into Republican rule. I did a financial transaction in December with no additional charges but the one I did in May had additional weasel charges. This reminds me of the Seinfeld, Car Dealer episode where the salesman gets mad and adds ludicrous and laughable additional charges to Jerry's car purchase. These included charges for keys, a finder's fee and an additional overcharge fee. Thanks for nothing, pro-deregulation Republicans.

Trump questions whether he has to uphold the Constitution. YES, HE MUST, and took an OATH to do so in front of millions of people. Does 'due process' apply to all no matter if legal or illegal? YES, due process is a right in this country. Is Trump forgetting our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Absolutely. There can be no denying Trump wants to get rid of the rule of law as he attacks attorneys, judges, even SCOTUS. Trump a pope? Laughable, he doesn't have a religious bone in his body.

Danger: the very same president who calls his political critics "the lunatic left" and refers to our media as "the enemy of the people" is now destroying our constitutional system by allowing the religious Heritage Foundation to lead a political coup in our capital. He has no mandate to institute Project 2025. During the election he repeatedly said, "I know nothing about it." But this week Trump is dismantling our First Amendment right by canceling PBS for criticizing his presidency harshly. However, Our First Amendment says nothing about our elected leaders having to like the free press criticisms from We The People.

Illegals in this country. Let's see when Joe Biden opened our borders, the illegals before they came in discarded they identity cards on them in Mexico. You could see them doing this on TV. Then they walked in. No one vetted them, Border patrol was ordered not to do this and told these illegals to show up for a court appearance before a Judge in 90 days. They never did ,they never had due process coming in so they should not have due process going back, just deported, or are the Democrats waiting until one of their own are murdered by an illegal. Now that would be a different story!

Love, harmony, generosity, fraternal, caring, heartfelt, EMPATHY. These words were heard many times at the Community Stars awards night. What a super evening. Too bad 47 cannot be like this and will not be like this.

Our pied piper president doesn't need music to induce his followers, he just lies. In his first term he told over 30,000 lies and he continues to tell lie after lie. No one will question him because it is either his way or the highway. He is slashing jobs and, the much needed programs while he continues to play golf. As of March 30,Trump's golfing has cost us approximately $23 million.
So wrong , sad and baffling how an arrogant and demeaning person is now the president of America.

Why do people with handicap placards drive with the placard hanging from the rear-view mirror? It obstructs your vision. It says at the top of the placard "REMOVE BEFORE DRIVING." Take it down, people.
