DEAR EDITOR:
One topic that gets little attention is the environment. Trump has cut climate research. So if we pretend that everything is fine, there is no problem. He did the same thing during COVID. Stop testing so no one knows how bad it is.
During Trump's first term he got rid of over 200 EPA regulations. This did provide a boost in the economy. However, anyone with common sense knows that the end result is catastrophic. Now he has done away with the clean water and clean air acts.. Industry is free to dump toxic waste into waterways and remove scrubbers from smoke stacks.
Chemicals like Lead, Mercury, acids and many other toxins will be everywhere in the air and water.
I was hoping that young voters would care enough about the future to not let a climate change denier like Trump get elected.
