Hitler mesmerized and controlled German citizens through his constant propaganda, intimidation and censorship while dismantling previous institutions and norms. We are now seeing the disruption of meaningful agencies like FDA and CDC which protect our foods, medications, and health; serious controls over our universities and their important medical research; our Social Security Agency where DOGE continues to make dangerous changes. The current administration hates unions and is putting our lives, incomes and free speech in jeopardy. What next?

If anyone thinks this administration is in any way religious, one should only look at the practice of their inhumane treatment of a man wrongly sent to a prison and their refusal to bring him home, even defying SCOTUS. If he is in such good 'hands' in that prison, why didn't they bring him home in the same plane that sent ten more men there?

Interesting in the April 10 edition regarding the Michael O'Brien comment the city stands to lose $300,000 from two "Pot Dispensary" locations. Does anyone know the Gross Sales requirement in order for the city to receive $600,000 from two such locations? Is this reality or simply more pie in the sky? Similar to the Niles expectation of receiving $500,000. Not really that tough to determine the arithmetical answer based upon area population either!!

I am surprised / not surprised at the lack of respect that our elected officials show to constituents. From the 3rd Ward councilman harassing residents about campaign signs, to the 4th Ward councilman swearing at residents during a council meeting, to the safety-service director answering residents in a "snarky" manner during a caucus meeting. Do they forget they work for us?

The genius in charge is missing one huge difference between tariffs in the early 1900s and tariffs now. Back then, our economy was not based on extras. By extras, I mean everyday purchases of items that people could live without. Back then, only people at the top of the food chain could afford the extras. Today, our entire economic engine is fueled by people buying crap they don't really need, and that is what the genius is miscalculating.

When the intersection of North Park and High Street becomes the main bus stop for low-use WRTA buses, it was just a matter of time before the area turned south. The bus routes should be eliminated! Now, we have graffiti on the buildings right by the bus stops. What did you think was going to happen? If you want downtown to be nice, you have to put nice things downtown!

People say Democrats are "woke" but this doesn't apply to Trumbull County Democrats. These voters saw Dan Polivka get arrested for domestic violence on a golf course in 2009 and not only voted to send him back to the commissioners board twice, but after that they also made him chairman of their party. Wonder if this loyalty will hold for this upcoming election?

First, you can get that insurance for less elsewhere. Secondly, the fee for the service includes a 10% kick back from HomeServe to the City from YOUR money to do with as they please. Talk about a hidden tax! Warren says they could use the hidden tax for "infrastructure" or helping low-income people. Employment applications are free! WE the citizens should decide if we want another tax and where that money should go! Nice try, politicians!!

Now the French are literally asking for the return of The Statue of Liberty; since "America doesn't believe in those values anymore."
