Road dept. can fix snow-removal damage
DEAR EDITOR:
As the chairman of the board of trustees of Howland Township, I felt a need to respond to a Sound Off item printed in the newspaper on April 12 pertaining to damaged yards in Howland Township and how they were not getting repaired.
Any person that has had serious yard damage due to snow removal can contact the township office and the road department will be more than happy to evaluate and repair the damage. Please remember that during snowstorms and heavy snows, It’s near impossible to determine the separation between road and yard.
Every year we ask residents, especially those on curves, to put out snow reflectors to help the snow-removal crew prevent such damage.
I would direct township residents to download our new cellphone app in which direct contact can be made between the resident and any department within the township.
