Sound off! Readers share their thoughts

Can the Warren Tribune PLEASE refrain from only having like-minded Republican cartoons? It's disgusting that a newspaper is so far Republican it won't report the news. Yes, Democrats make mistakes. But I for one would love to see an editorial cartoon prolifically portray the actual Neanderthals that our government has become instead of bowing down to their level. I've read you my whole 58 years old life. You make me sad. In fact, I doubt this will make it into print. Freedom of the press, my [expletive].

When reading the Sound Offs before the election, certain towns like Canfield, Boardman and Poland had a favorable opinion of President 45-47. Not so today. NO ONE HAS DONE MORE TO HURT AMERICA THAN THE TRUMP SUPPORTER. Apparently, people should have been more careful what they wished for!! You were WARNED about the "snake-oil salesman."

Alex Devengencie-Bush, the Trumbull County HR director, is way out of line. She's pretending to be the county administrator -- a job everybody was against when Crazy Niki was in office. The reality is she's way out of line. The commissioners should be leading the charge, not the HR director. I'd urge the commissioners to keep her in her lane before it has disastrous consequences.

Trump with his Project 2025 (claims he knows nothing about) will indeed benefit his wealthy donors and hinder the average American. With a scared Congress approval, Trump and his chainsaw billionaire are destroying the GREAT America that I knew and that WAS the envy of the world. When you closely HEED Trump's wording, and what he is doing, It is obvious his objectives are HIS wealth and POWER! Stop this craziness, have the wealthy pay their FAIR share of tax.

The Trumbull County GOP is in shambles. Commissioners: one was a waiter at the last supper, one profits from human trafficking, and one is a lazy Trump-like bully. They are going to do what Republicans are against: raise sales tax and water rates. The auditor raised property taxes, messed up majorly regarding Bazetta and now wants to sue the Commissioners. The recorder cannot run a business, files bankruptcy and blames everyone except the lady in the mirror. The sheriff and engineer have darkness in their pasts. Watch out for the GOP judges, clerk of courts and treasurer, they all drink from the cup of Regina. It is going to be a long 2 to 4 years in Trumbull County, but after that I think that they will all be gone.

I am really upset that our state legislators are approving money for a new stadium for the Cleveland Browns. I was born and bred in Warren and have been a Browns fan since I was a kid. The Cleveland Browns haven't done anything to deserve that money, they have won nothing. You guys have allowed the NFL to pay no taxes, yet prices for tickets food, and drink are through the roof. The taxpayers shouldn't be footing the bill for a new stadium. Thanks.

I was appalled to watch Auditor Martha Yoder threaten to sue the Trumbull County Commissioners after they cut her budget during a recent budget meeting. Shame on Martha Yoder! This is ridiculous, childish and mostly a waste of taxpayer dollars. No more lawsuits, unless you want to pay for the attorney yourself.

Chairman Mark Alberini came to another Trumbull County commissioners workshop meeting to bully the commissioners about the Board of Elections budget. Hey Mark, when 2 directors salaries go from 74K to 96K, that is called a raise, regardless of what you scream or how you want to spin it. Your tirade was unprofessional, self serving and mostly embarrassing for you.

I am glad to see that 2 out 3 underutilized WRTA bus routes have been eliminated. These routes rarely had more than a couple if any people on them, as I previously pointed out. The city and the county previously had wasted $148,000 EACH on these low-use routes. And now, the county can't even meet its 2025 budget.County and city budgets have had great waste for decades. It is time for DOGE their waste!

Spring will soon be in full force in Warren. This means a number of welcomed things – flowers blooming, trees budding, sun shining. In contrast, it will also bring unwelcomed things -- motorcycles being revved up in driveways, barking dogs left unattended in yards, noisy neighbors with unintelligible music blaring. Please consider other people -- ones who prefer quiet time on their porches or patios. Lack of consideration, especially motorcycles speeding up and down residential streets, makes spring and summer unwelcomed seasons.

Here we go again! Steward Health continues to cast its long shadow of greed and mismanagement by causing local hospitals, once under its control, to partially close. In order to get more money, Steward has chosen not to honor the agreement made with Insight. Why is Steward not condemned legally by doing this? Perhaps, in this case, the judge who made this ruling should be investigated. After all, fair is fair, and this ruling certainly was not!

That's one way to make questionable policies look good. Create chaos with ever-changing tariffs that intentionally crash the stock market due to uncertainty. After the market recovers through normal cycles, take credit and declare it was because of the policies.

Our government is now being run by a band of oddities, none with experience of running a government with its constitutional rules and regulations, only what they decide on the spur of the moment. Havoc is now our leader, who is running the country as a business, he who has had multiple failures in businesses. The problems are increasing daily with these haphazard methods and the people will suffer.

Musk / Trump plan simplified. First --Determine a number they want for tax cuts for themselves and other billionaires. Second -- Show enough firings, cuts and fraud, real or made up, large enough that the congressional parliamentarian will allow enough Republican-only votes to get the billionaire tax cuts into law. Third -- Sit back and laugh at Americans who fell for the tariff swindle promising manufacturing jobs will be coming back. Oh, how quickly people forget. Don't sell your houses, GM Lordstown employees.

Military veterans, our first line of defense, giving their lives for all Americans, from WW1, WW2, Korean War, the Vietnam War, a war where they were treated abominably in their homecomings, and others….where would we be without their selfless contributions? So many came home in pieces, mental wrecks or dead, and we have Musk taking their jobs and futures from them. How many do you see out and about and "say thank you for your service?"
