DEAR EDITOR:

I believe it would be a great mistake if our present administration gives any Ukrainian lands to the Russians. They were the invaders and we should help the people of Ukraine get their land back. Putin should not be dividing up their land and attempting to take over.

I can’t believe that our support isn’t with the brave people of Ukraine, including women and children — who are doing their schoolwork in basements of blown-out buildings. If anyone thinks Putin will stop with Ukraine, they need to go back and review history over the past hundreds of years.

If we really are this superpower and world leader, we need to be willing to help maintain democracy where we can by doing whatever is necessary. What has happened to the Republicans in this country? First Crimea, Donbas, then Ukraine — if Ukraine is conquered, all the natural resources and industrial strength of Ukraine will be Putin’s and then Europe is at Putin’s mercy. Wake up.
