Now that former President Biden has preemptively signed pardons for all Jan. 6 select committee members and President Trump has signed pardons and commutations for all of its participants, can we finally agree that the Jan. 6 peaceful protest never really happened and get on with the difficult task of making this country respectable and GREAT once again?

Since Monday, Jan. 20, Donald Trump has put our country in chaos with all his executive orders. The people who voted for him will now see the destruction this will cause to all of us. He is nominating unqualified people to key positions in his Cabinet. It will take years to correct what he is doing to all of us. God help us all!

Apparently, Warren Council member Gary Steinbeck gave just shy of $40,000 of his share of the America Rescue Plan funds to Up a Creek Tavern in Warren for an electric sign. Wow! How does a new sign for a business in a part of Warren that most people assume is Howland help the city? We can only assume Gary is a regular there. What a dumb waste of money.

Cheer all you want and raise that Buckeye flag as high as you can, but there is something terribly wrong when a fan base such as that of Ohio State resorts to threatening the coach’s children and whining over a regular-season loss even after winning a national championship. In spite of the millions of dollars spent on coaches and top-notch athletes, football is a sport, a game. Let’s regain some sense of right and wrong, of the important and the trivial.

Many things in today’s world are bothersome and irksome — robocalls, inconsistent mail delivery, to name a few. One thing stands out above most others, and that is someone who answers a business phone who cannot speak English or speaks English with a very heavy accent. This should not be happening! Business owners should hire representatives who speak our native language correctly and clearly. Why lose a prospective client or customer because someone cannot do those two things?

During Trump’s first few days he did some smoke-and-mirror performances. He called in the news cameras and signed many executive orders. However, if you read the details, most are a joke and will never hold up in any court. He knows his followers will never go look at details, so these signings were just a show to hype up those supporters. Yes, some orders will accomplish things, but the majority were just a show for the slow.

One of the definitions of a politician is: a person who acts in a manipulative and devious way. Do City Council members think Warren residents are easily fooled? Council members are now reaching out to residents…WHY? Because they’re up for reelection in May. Do they believe all they need to do is act like they care about residents just before an election? Do they think we’ll forget about an 89% pay raise they voted for themselves? We will NEVER forget! Vote them ALL out!
