Sound off!

So, the Cleveland Clinic is expanding its footprint in this area. Superficially, this seems like welcomed news. However, in reality, there have already been concerns. Getting a prescription renewed or requesting orders for blood work from one of these offices has been impossible because phones are not being answered. Is this the status of this segment of the medical community now? If so, the area is in trouble. Surely, the Clinic should be able to do better.

A thank you note to Ed Puskas for reminding us of the Hollihan, Big Chuck, and Lil John Shows. The only skit I remember, I am not sure what they were supposed to be doing, but one of them appears holding a big plug. The other looks up, very excited, and says something like “Oh no no, that’s the Lake Erie plug, so we just drained Lake Erie”.

When in the Sam Hill are the Republicans and SCOTUS going to do something to stopTrump’s violations of law? Does anyone have any courage or guts to see that their elected positions will be secondary to the loss of millions of jobs across the nation, not all Washington elite positions, but jobs that directly serve the people in all walks of life. If they cannot do the right thing and stand up against this tyranny, they ought to get out of politics as this is not serving their constituencies.

Dave Joyce is our congressman and he needs to explain what is going on. There have been some unsettling actions taking place and Dave needs to put out a statement about what he knows so we can plan our lives. He has been to internal meetings and he should be sharing that information with us. Call Dave and remind him that he works for us, not for Donald Trump. You can contact Dave at 202-225-5731.

In my opinion, we are now entering a great recovery period reversing the damage and direction of the Biden Administration. Examples include but not limited to energy independence, sound economic policy, preventing illegal migration, freedom of speech, and eliminating the weaponization of the justice system. It is wonderful having a leader who loves America, the Constitution and the rule of law. President Trump has restored hope. Oh happy day!

Here is the Republican plan in simplified terms. Break existing systems and then say oh we need to fix that. Just like when they tried to repeal the ACA without defining a replacement plan first. Once the original system is damaged, people will be in despair and anything will look acceptable. The reason they won’t show their replacement plans now is because they are all a step backwards and the public would be highly upset.

Just when we thought it was safe to go back in the water…oops…safe to read the paper! She’s ba-a-a-ack! Niki Frenchko has surfaced again, this time reportedly throwing lemons at a speaker at a local GOP meeting. Time to put the toys — and lemons — and childish actions away. C’mon, Niki; grow up. No wonder no one takes you seriously.

Warren’s 3rd Ward Councilman Mr. Greathouse is reaching out to residents to establish a solution for the intersection of Woodland and Genesee. This intersection has become a hotbed of accidents since the removal of the traffic light. Mr. Greathouse has ignored the request for intervention at that intersection. But NOW it’s re-election time and he wants to have a conversation and work on a solution for it. Why didn’t he work on a solution before over 20 accidents occurred there?

Our country is under siege, and it is from within. Ignoring rules and the Constitution, Trump and co-president Elon Musk are demolishing major cabinet posts necessary to the safety of our country, firing millions of government employees, all in his need for vengeance on anyone who had any remote connection to the criminal cases against him.

— Liberty

Does Trump have some misguided notion that if he fires everyone involved in the investigations of his questionable activities during his first term, he will somehow rewrite history? Does he not understand that dubious actions took place, history will record those actions, and more bad actions will only add to an already appalling record? He seems to be living in George Costanza’s world where George explains to Jerry Seinfeld; “Jerry, just remember. It’s not a lie — if you believe it.”

— Cortland

Even after Trump’s adviser, Elon Musk, explains to the Democrat kindergarten the billions in waste and fraud that is being exposed, what is the Democratic leadership response? Absolutely nothing but rants. No policies of their own, nothing! Remember the election Democrats and what We The People voted for? Wait until future elections … and don’t be surprised! Keep up the good job DOGE!

Regardless of the semantics used by Mr. Alberini and his pithy explanations /excuses, no one should be given a raise of $23,000. Trumbull County commissioners must put a lid on rampant spending, and that is exactly what the raises for the Board of Elections directors would be. Those raises are even worse than the pay increases for Warren City Council members! Stop the insanity of uncontrolled spending!

Trump sits under a tanning machine and he is so orange in color that he resembles a pumpkin. Has he never heard of melanoma? Over a hundred thousand people will be diagnosed this year alone. Of course, he knows this as he is “brilliant”; he told us so himself.

Mark Alberini, Board of Elections Chairman, stated that increasing the compensation for the Director and Assistant Director to $96,000 from $71,900 is restructuring, an increase of 34%. That’s a raise. He says they will eliminate overtime and limit comp time. He is the typical politician who speaks with forked tongue and very wasteful with the taxpayer’s money. Why not take that money and hire another person in the department to eliminate the overtime? Democrats are the party of big spending.

This past week has been the most fun in four years watching the Democrats imploding all over Washington, D.C. By all means, please keep parading the likes of Maxine Waters out in front of TV cameras. She does so much to further the cause for the Democrats.

— Warren

Remember during the presidential debate when Donald Trump was asked about Project 2025? He stated “I have nothing to do with Project 2025”. Now read his policies starting on Day One, do they look familiar? Did he lie to America? Is this what you voted for MAGA? Do you understand what you voted for?

— Warren

With all the truly crazy and illegal things Trump is doing every day, please tell me why all the Tribune editorial cartoons are anti-Democrat? The anti-Trump ones practically write themselves. At least go fifty-fifty with the slams!

This year’s Super Bowl should go down in history as having the WORST halftime show ever. Apple is out of touch with America.

The Leavittsburg dam is not a waterfall, it is an industrial site. Like any other decommissioned and now dangerous industrial site, it should be dismantled. Return the river to its original status and purpose.

The primary ballot for Warren looks like nothing but recycled Dems. When you recycle garbage, you still have garbage with the same lack of results. Warren continues to decline as it has for at least 55 years, and the hope isn’t changing, no new jobs or houses (except for HUD in certain sides of town), a downtown that remains stuck in the past, and plans that fall apart. When you go vote, remember that recycled garbage still stinks.

— Warren

This message is to those non-MAGA people who voted for Trump. Listen to what he says but watch what he does. He just fired 18 inspector generals created by Reagan to watch for corruption in various government agencies. He created his mean coins as a pump-and-dump scheme to make money off of MAGA. He’s threatened Mexico, Canada, Denmark and Colombia, but not a word against Putin. This should reduce the cost of eggs, not!

— Campbell

Using military planes to go to Colombia that hold 800 people but only had 80. The cost to run that plane is $100,000 PER HOUR. Is it two or three hours to get there and two or three hours to get back or more? And they sent TWO planes. How much did that cost the American people? I thought this guy was supposed to be saving American people money. He’s spending like a drunken sailor. It’s all optics I tell you.

DJT waves a Bible, albeit upside down, and sells his own Bible /Constitution. He was “offended” by Bishop Budde’s biblical plea for mercy toward others. On Inauguration Day, he “forgot” to place his hand on the Bible Melania held. If he didn’t “swear on the Bible,” is he the President or will he tell us he didn’t “swear” to uphold the Constitution? “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” are replaced with “Merit, Aptitude, and Hard Work,” traits, no doubt, that got DJT where he is.

In my perfect justice system, my cops will arrest you, my investigators will investigate you, my judges will hear my lawyers prosecute you and you will be convicted unless judge and jury actually follow laws I have yet to rewrite. You will be imprisoned in another country where I pay your keep (with your taxes) and where you will have no right to appeal or to have visitors. Guess who I am. If you can’t, your red ball cap may be so tight it’s interfering with your thought processes. Everyone else, raise your voice, cast your ballot.

When there is no money left for Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid, then and then only will people realize that all programs are connected and pay into these social programs that Trump says he’s not going to touch. When your doctor or specialist or hospital doesn’t get paid and no one can purchase this paper anymore, then it will be too late to fix it. You are eliminated too.
