Sound off!

No matter how large or small, no good deed should go unnoticed or unrecognized. These are good reminders that there are still positive people in this world. A prime example of such a deed occurred recently. There was cash money discovered outside a local church. Anonymously, it was turned in and handled properly. Due to the kindness and selfless acts of all involved, the money was given back to the church, in the manner it was intended. Without the good will of these individuals, the money could have been stolen or misplaced. Thank you for reminding me that people can still do things for their community, family and friends.

A Dec. 1, 2024 letter to the editor states it’s time to move on since Trump won the election and then he goes on to bash Democrats. The letter writer certainly didn’t move on after President Biden’s win in 2020, did he?

An onion to Rep. David Joyce and all Republicans on the House “Ethics” Committee for voting against releasing a taxpayer-funded investigative report on the alleged 2017 felonious sexual activities of MAGA King Matt Gaetz involving a minor female. Sure Gaetz, Trump’s Attorney General choice, resigned his House seat in order to thwart the report’s release. Precedence, contrary to speaker Johnson’s lies, shows prior release of reports involving Democrat Rep. William Boner and GOP Sen. John Ensign. So much more to look forward to. Character and qualifications do NOT matter — only fealty.

Trumbull County Metro Parks Board and County Commissioners next meeting about Leavittsburg Dam needs to be held outside at the site where Summit St Dam was removed. There are no homes on that bank. It’s nothing more than a creek not a river you could canoe on. Leaders need to ask themselves if Leavittsburg residents deserve catastrophic irreversible ramifications of a river that turns to a creek? If they don’t have the clear answer, do not proceed with dam removal.

Finally … with the overwhelming election of Donald Trump, common sense will return to the federal government. Finally … Biden-Harris’ wasteful spending, often under the guise of DEI, will be curtailed. Finally … our Southern border, once controlled, will no longer be overrun by undocumented immigrants. Finally … our economy will return to its full strength. Finally … the American people will be filled with pride once again. All it takes is time! Thank you, voters!

A joke on Vienna residents one more time. Jason Miner, barely out of high school. His LinkedIn profile lists name only “hi profile sounding” jobs. A “scrapper maintenance “ job. … He stumped for candidates and he likely shadowed as a lackey assistant for Warren Township’s fiscal officer. Is this honest to God due diligence when Vienna is scraping the bottom of the barrel? The “accurate” line in the Trib’s article is “He boasts nine months of experience.”

The Ohio Supreme Court has agreed to hear yet another appeal on behalf of Danny Lee Hill, who was found guilty of the torture, rape, and murder of 12-year-old Raymond Fife. Hill has been on death row for 38 years and has had nearly 30 appeals, the most recent one being denied in May. This is a travesty of justice and a massive waste of taxpayers’ money.
