DEAR EDITOR:
I am asking that you please hear my concerns and share them with your viewers.
As the race for Trumbull County Commissioner heats up on the Democratic ticket, I think it is important that we voters choose the candidate with the most experience, knowledge, dedication and commitment.
These are horrific times our county is experiencing. Our county needs to bring progress, stability, professionalism and accountability back to the commissioner's office to restore our reputation and work ethic.
With that said, my focus of concern lies with candidate Dr. James LaPolla.
Dr. LaPolla states that should he win the commissioner's seat, he would still maintain his physician/surgeon medical practice.
Does Dr. LaPolla actually believe that he could maintain a busy practice, serve as a visiting Nursing Home Physician and Surgeon and take on the role and additional responsibilities as the county commissioner?
Running/becoming a county commissioner cannot be a check off my bucket list. There has to be a commitment and 24/7 availability. To be a good public servant is no different than being a good physician. It takes years of experience, dedication, passion and hours of commitment. Taxpayers and patients both deserve the best care and to be a top priority.
There is only one candidate in the Democratic commissioner’s race who has a proven track record, a professional and friendly rapport with department heads and contractors and is available 24/7, putting the needs of the taxpayers as a priority. He is a candidate who is capable of working with diverse groups and a candidate who knows and understands the budget. This candidate is the same candidate the Tribune chose to endorse. This candidate is Dan Polivka.
Thank you,
Kathy Cialella
