Illegal aliens treated better than citizens

DEAR EDITOR:

In recent times, specifically under President Biden’s administration, illegal aliens are receiving preferential treatment over American citizens, along with homeless Americans and veterans. Free money, food, shelter and medical care has caused enormous stress on our already limited social services. As a veteran of the U.S. Navy, who served in the Middle East during the Iraq War, Americans need to be first.

First, the allocation of resources to support illegal aliens, including healthcare, education and social services, comes at the expense of addressing the pressing needs of struggling Americans. With an increasing strain on public services, critics contend that prioritizing the needs of illegal aliens exacerbates the challenges faced by American citizens and homeless who are grappling with poverty, unemployment and inadequate access to essential services.

Second concerns about the job market. The impact of illegal immigration is causing additional problems for hard working Americans. By allowing illegal aliens to work, American citizens may face increased competition for employment, potentially leading to wage suppression and job scarcity.

Third is dealing with uptick in crime. Where illegal aliens receive lenient treatment in legal matters, with concerns about the enforcement of immigration laws and potential implications for public safety. This perceived leniency in dealing with illegal aliens in the criminal justice system raises questions about the fairness and consistency of the legal framework and its impact on the safety of American communities.

Fourth, Unfair Access to Social Services. Illegal aliens benefit from access to social services, such as education and healthcare, without contributing proportionally through taxes. This creates a sense of injustice among those who believe that resources should prioritize American citizens who have dutifully paid into the system. We have already had limited resources to support our own citizens, and the addition to the “open borders” policy that this administration has implemented has caused an undue strain to local communities.

Last, the effect that this has on national security. Our borders are being overwhelmed by the amount of people crossing the border. The Border Patrol can’t catch them all and they slip into the community, i.e., got aways. They could be part of a terrorist cell or on the run from their home country due to the heinous crimes they have committed.

In conclusion, the Biden Administration needs to enforce the previous immigration policies that former President Trump had in place to stem illegal immigration to this country. The thing that should scare Americans the most is when an illegal alien is able to board a plane without a valid ID, while Americans have to have a valid ID to travel, shows that the United States government under the Biden Administration would rather put the needs of illegal aliens before Americans.
