Sound off!

The war of words continues toward the selection of Bill Johnson as the new president of YSU. Why do all these people think they are entitled to participate in this selection? Do teachers and students have a say in who their new principal or superintendent will be? No. The most despicable act, however, is from donors who say they will withhold contributions. Ridiculous! Obviously, these "donors" are not truly interested in helping the students. They are interested only in self-recognition.

Local meteorologists have been bringing our attention to the lack of precipitation in November. Since the November hiring by YSU of Bill Johnson, liberal tears have been flowing like a summer downpour. These tears could have really helped the deficit if they weren't so salty.

While Brittney Watts was being dragged through the legal system by the Warren Prosecutor's office for the crime of having a miscarriage, nobody said anything. Shame on local politicians, church leaders and Democrat Party officials who said and did nothing. You people only care when you can gain political advantage. We see you for what you all are.

Officials of the NAC Conference need to change their ways. Making fans pay full price to get into high school basketball games when there is no JV game is wrong. I learned it was brought up at a league meeting, and the top guys said 'no' to lowering the price. That's unfair to all; get it together folks.

Christmas approaches, another year without my granddaughter, permitted to see her mother only in supervised visits, one hour each week as ordered by a Family Court magistrate. No drug use, no alcoholism, abuse, assault, violence or neglect on her mother's part. So why, then, supervised visits for 17 months? I believe it's because the father determines the magistrate's rulings. I suggest there is bias, not justice. No concept of what the child is experiencing without her mother's daily love.

Seattle has solved homelessness; it was so simple. By year's end, I predict it will be nationwide.

First, there is a new word that will be used: "unhoused." Here is the plan. Where are you? Seattle. So your home is Seattle. Problem solved. You're not homeless. Now, do you have shelter? I live in a van down by the river. Great, you are not unhoused. Think this is a joke? Google "unhoused."

It's hard to deny where political dysfunction in Congress comes from. The embarrassing, chaotic drama arises from Trump Republicans. Instead of focusing on important legislative and world diplomacy, they're consumed in petty arguing, name calling, plotting and inventing impeachable offenses. Meanwhile, Democrats do the peoples' work in dignified unity -- unfortunately, hindered in their goal by legislative counterparts. As Trump's crude rhetoric turns more deranged and dangerous, the more imperative the Democratic Party's "Constitutional" focus becomes.

I'm amazed how badly things fell apart since Biden took office, yet people obsess over Trump. Effects of weak domestic / foreign policy mean nothing to them. Many liberal cities are now crime and drug ridden. God only knows what terrorists, criminals, diseases crossed our open borders. The best woman athlete is now a man. Colleges brainwashed students to morph murderous Hamas into "Free Palestine." I could go on; the point is Biden (not Trump) is responsible for downfall.
