Concerning the busing dilemma in Warren, did neither commissioners nor the Trumbull County transit director not see this coming? Did none of them know the details of the original grant that allowed the busing? This is yet another example of inefficiencies in the commissioners' office and Trumbull County government. Does anyone know what is happening?

Newton Falls council is considering a city manager contract. They made up a position that goes against the charter (sole control, salary, etc.). They propose a $30,000 / year raise, plus 3% annual increases, six weeks vacation, and permits full payment if she commits a crime. The kicker? The Village supposedly is broke! She has no experience. Taxpayers also are paying someone else to get grants. We have no money for playground equipment, roads, etc. And her existing contract is not up!
Newton Falls
As a Newton Township resident, conduct of Newton Falls council does not affect me as a whole, but representation of our entire community does. Who are these clowns and why do they hold office? As a very small Trumbull County community, why do we make state and national news? It's sickening beyond reason. Officials must stop these ever loving theatrics! Catch a grip and do your jobs. Get on with it or get out!

I refuse to contribute my tax dollars for a bus system that would tax every purchase made by anyone in Trumbull County, but wouldn't supply the bus service to every community in Trumbull County.

Why should more effective educators not receive advanced placement? Do we want our children to be taught by the most by effective and capable or by those teaching the longest? Professional sports know that player quality wins games. We too, as parents, know that answer. The best Youngstown teachers should not be bypassed for promotion regardless of length of service.

Why can't Dish Network and WYTV Channel 33 (ABC) come to an agreement? This loss of Channel 33 has been going on since last fall.

A recent soundoff submission mentioned "Democrats' indictments" of Donald Trump. Not at all correct. Grand juries made up of every day, nonpartisan citizens handed up these indictments. It is past time that he and his cohorts face the music. Trump does not love our country nor its citizens. He loves only himself and wants to be a dictator. Fascism is beyond ugly.
West Farmington
Former Proud Boys leader, Enrique Tarrio, was sentenced to 22 years in prison for his part of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. Now he's sorry and apologetic. Where was this sorrow and regret months ago? He's only sorry now because of his conviction and lengthy prison sentence. Sadly, he was buying into the lies of Donald Trump that the election was stolen. Come on America, let's turn away from hate!
