With the recent court victories by Newton Falls police Chief Fixler and clerk Kathleen King, Councilman John Baryak, who led the charge to dismiss these folks, and Councilwoman Tesa Spletzer and Mayor Ken Kline, should immediately resign. Because of their poor decision making, this settlement will cost Newton Falls taxpayers over a quarter million dollars. Taxpayers should seek restitution from these three individuals to cover this cost!

Local candidates' petitions rejected? Don't lower state / local candidate requirements because the same lack of adherence to rules would carry over to that candidate's lack of governance acumen.

Political signs already are appearing in yards. Ironically, these signs are not promoting a vote for a particular person, but rather they are promoting a vote against a person -- Niki Frenchko! Hopefully, the voters will listen and heed its message. Trumbull County commissioners office must return to some sense of normalcy, and that is the quickest way to assure it.

Has anyone asked Commissioner Frenchko if she knows how to print a document? If not, offer her some training.

This Soundoff is about Cranberry Hills Golf Course in Champion. It's not a fancy course, nor is it a difficult course (it is for me). It takes a lot of work to keep a golf course running, and the owner, Steve, does a great job. The fairways and greens are beautiful. I hope it remains a golf course.

Those involved in the LMC debacle in "Voltage Valley" should pat themselves on the back. They've been able to perpetuate a convoluted business venture into the golden fleece that reeks of fraud, waste and abuse of the system. It's sad in the U.S. that our way of doing business allows and has promoted this. Unfortunately, we still are "watching" the show and most likely will watch for years to come.

So candidates and everyone else are focused on abortion and immigration. How about we get down to brass tacks? The senior that's trying to decide between needed medications or food? Or the single parent trying to decide about food or rent for their family? When are we going to wake up and realize what is happening? Stop voting for politicians. Vote for humanity. Our current government is disgusting. We, the citizens, need to do better for everyone -- including ourselves.

Even if Donald Trump is not convicted on all the indictments, would you still want him for your president? For the sake of our country and democracy, please America, say no to someone who tried his hardest to steal an election and held on to classified documents belonging to the U.S. government. Please vote against hate and division. Remember God and country before party. God bless America!

During Donald Trump's final days in office, fellow Republicans coined phrases "Team Normal" and "Team Crazy." Team Normal continually tried to stop Team Crazy from doing things that broke laws. Now 2 1/2 years later, all members of Team Crazy are out on bail, all charged with felonies. But the craziest thing for the Republican Party is that most members of Team Normal said they would vote for Team Crazy again, if they win the Republican primary.
