DEAR EDITOR:
I plan to sue the State of Ohio in federal court for not having a Republican form of governing.
The issue on the August ballot would require a 60 percent majority of the electorate's votes in an election to pass. It is not constitutional! Think about it. A Republican form of government is when we elect representatives that win the most or a majority of votes. The person who gets 41 percent does not get the office over the person who won 59 percent. Yet, that is exactly what this ballot issue brought by our corrupt Republican state legislators has created for passage of citizens' ballot initiatives to amend the Ohio Constitution.
How any court can allow this is beyond reason. Article IV (U.S. Constitution): Relationships Between the States, Section 4, Republican Form of Government
"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence."
A republican form is based on the democratic values of majority rule. Not on minority rule. I have a case against the Senate for their non republican form of governing with the filibuster rule. That is also a non republican form that was and is not in the Constitution. The Senate made it up after the Civil War, for their own reasons.
The Senate can make up their own rules, but they must use republican form of governing, just as the states are to have republican forms. Yet, our courts are full of primitive thinkers who cannot apply rules as they are written, when they seem to conflict. This is the same stupidity of not indicting a sitting, or former, president. We need to grow up.
Unfortunately, the people have to get out and vote to protect their rights and republican forms of governing because the Justices that are supposed to protect them won't do their job. They are bought out, like it appears has happened to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
We the people need to do this civilly and not violently, like those in the Jan. 6 insurrection. Vote out the Republicans and vote for your rights and the republic.
