Supreme Court ruling is an attack on women
DEAR EDITOR:
With the recent reversal of Roe v. Wade, I am absolutely shocked and disgusted at the way women are being regarded as human livestock with laws determining what women are able to do with their bodies.
Reversing Roe v. Wade was completed by justices who were selected by a president who lost the popular vote. Two of these justices testified under oath that Roe v. Wade was established law, suggesting their position of not overturning it. They gained the Senate votes needed to win approval.
I cannot help but believe there is a war on women that has been led by the actions of these justices.
This is a war of power and control over women and their choices and a religious position imposed on women.
If it wasn’t a war on women, we would see that the fathers of these unborn children mandated to share the responsibility from the time of conception for prenatal care. We would see legislation that is actually successful in ensuring that child support is provided for these children once they are born.
Twenty-seven states are enacting trigger laws to immediately enact bans on abortions, and Ohio is one of them.
So, I’m waiting for Gov. Mike DeWine to show his support for women, for him to provide the support for these women who have no other choice but to birth these babies. I’m waiting for the mandatory paternity leave, state-funded daycare and any other programs to help these women with the choices made by justices who have superimposed their religion into the interpretation of this law.
