Ever since Frenchko took office, she's been targeted because she broke up part of the "good ole boys" network, working for Trumbull County good. I suggest if you have a problem, quit or resign from office. There are many issues that need to be acted on in the county to have all this infighting. As a lifelong Democrat, I'm disgusted with some in the Democratic Party because they do not represent "we the people," only themselves and their personal agenda.

Nine pounds of deadly fentanyl were found during a traffic stop of two illegal aliens in a car from Oklahoma driving along I-80 this past Wednesday afternoon. What are the odds that a traffic camera would have taken the two occupants away and kept that poison off our streets?

Someone must explain to Newton Falls Councilman John Baryak, along with the interim employee who's complaining about not receiving any respect, that you don't get respect from a title. Respect is earned. If people don't respect you, it's not because of the title but how you used the power that comes with it. I guess Rodney Dangerfield isn't the only one not getting any respect. And people wonder why Newton Falls is a joke.

Do you think disgraced former President Trump has even pulled his attention away from his lies, conspiracies and pending lawsuits long enough to notice his cultist fan / voter base is dying off in record numbers from COVID? His people are so brainwashed they "can't see the forest for the ventilators."

As a former mental health R.N. with 11 years in mental health and 35 years overall, I can say without doubt our health care system extremely lacks the benefit of good mental health for society. If our focus would be on mental health for everyone, we could prevent tragedies like mass shootings and senseless suicides. Our society is at a breaking point. Mental health means more now than ever before, especially for our kids.

Ohioans demand fair representation! Let's say it loudly and often so the Republicans on the Ohio Redistricting Commission get the message. They are now asking for a stay on redistricting until after the 2022 election -- when the Republican chief justice who ruled their maps unconstitutional is retired. The Ohio Supreme Court must again reject the rigged maps and Republicans must get the message: Under our state's law, politicians do not get to choose their voters.

Republicans, after refusing to be a part of bipartisan investigation, now say the Jan. 6th insurrection -- when rioters sought for the first time ever to block peaceful transfer of power -- was "legitimate political discourse." It followed a heated speech by Donald Trump, in which he directed his followers to march to the Capitol, which was ransacked, and members of Congress, Vice President Pence fled for their lives. At least five people died and scores were injured.

For the past 10 years, Ohio retired teachers have not had a cost-of-living increase. Now, the state legislature wants to offer a one-time 2 percent COLA. Even Social Security provides COLA increases every year. While these increases can't cover rising health care expenses, at least it's something. With inflation at 7 percent last year alone, how is anyone supposed to live on the same amount of money they made 10 years ago? Our retired teachers deserve better.

From MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech: "… not be judged by the color of their skin but by their character." From Joe Biden's lips: "I pledge to appoint a black woman to the Supreme Court." Hmmm.

Have you heard the phrase "all roads lead to Ohio?" It might be true, as Ohio's roads carry the third-highest freight traffic and the sixth-highest miles driven in the United States. Ohio is going to receive $500 million dollars from President Biden's infrastructure bill -- for roads and bridges, clean water and internet upgrades. The former president promised infrastructure package, but never tried to put one together. The Democrats are getting things done!
