Let us count failures of Biden’s first year

2 min read

DEAR EDITOR:

Joe Biden has completed his first year in office, and a few days ago, in one of his many boring speeches, he said it was a great success. So let's look at some of them.

Biden immediately wrote an executive order to shut down the Keystone Pipeline and gas and oil leasing. Our gas is and will be over $3 per gallon. We were oil independent under President Trump, but now OPEC is trying to get the price of oil up to $150 a barrel, so be prepared for yet higher prices. All of this extra cost is passed on to the consumer.

The next executive order stopped the building of President Trump's border wall. There were over 2 million illegals caught crossing our southern border in 2021. No doubt that many more escaped into our country. The guess is over 20 million illegals. Here, in Girard, school officials are hiring a teacher to teach Spanish children English. I can't imagine what it is like living in a border town.

Joe Biden said President Trump should have resigned as poorly as he was handling the COVID-19 virus. In 2021, we had more COVID-19-related deaths than in 2020; so I guess Biden should resign as there is no end in sight.

Spending is crazy, and inflation is at a 40-year high. I would say Biden's first year is a complete failure and 2022 will be more of the same.

Don't forget, you Dems voted for him.
