Reduce emissions by driving hybrid vehicles

1 min read

DEAR EDITOR:

I have had a hybrid vehicle for 18 months now. As I see it, my gas mileage has doubled and approximately half my miles are in electric mode.

In my opinion, this reduces the emissions for my driving by half. If all cars made were hybrids, it stands to reason that emissions would be reduced by half. There will be no need to look for charging stations as in all electric or plug-in hybrids.

Electricity will need to be generated to support all electric charging. Will this be from coal-fired electric plants? Nuclear plants? Hydroelectric, solar or wind? Maybe all of these.

We need emissions reduced by half soon so that we could slow or stop global warming. It is in my opinion that hybrid vehicles are a good start.
