AWL HOLDS WALK FOR THE ANIMALS: The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County’s 19th annual Walk for the Animals will be held Sunday at 812 Youngstown Kingsville Road S.E., Vienna. Registration begins at noon. Schedule of events includes blessing of the animals at 1 p.m., open bark park and walking path from 1 to 4 p.m., fun events at 2:30 p.m. and awards at 3:30 p.m. There will be a free T-shirt to each walker. Prizes will be awarded to top 10 money raisers. All checks made to Animal Welfare League. Prizes will also be awarded for the most amazing pet trick contest, best pet costume, owner-dog lookalike, smallest and largest dog and flying disk contest. MESPO HOLDS HERITAGE EVENT: The Mesopotamia Fall Heritage Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Commons, 8719 state Route 534. The free event will include Amish and Yankee artisans showcasing their craftsmanship. There will be handmade goods and homemade foods and live demonstrations. Call 440-693-4295.
CHURCH HOLDS CRAFT EVENT: First Presbyterian Church, 4 Summit St,. Niles, will hold a fall craft show from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be baked goods and refreshments and a basket raffle.
CHURCH OFFERS CLOTHING: First Community Church of Leavittsburg, 4640 West Market St., will be sponsoring a used clothing sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Clothing of all sizes will be sold at 50 cents per bag. All proceeds will go toward the church building fund.
FALL FUN WEEKENDS: Ridgeview Farm, 5488 Kinsman Road (state Route 87), Mesopotamia, will be offering Fall Fun Weekends from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 26. SHOWCASING THE ARTS: Arts for Adoption will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at DiLucia’s, 2610 Elm Road, Warren. ARCHIVIST SPEAKS AT EVENT: Pamela L. Speis, archivist at the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, will discuss the proper care and preservation of photographs, from different photo formats to storage solutions, at 11 a.m. today at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library. The event is part of the First Friday Lecture Series: “A Family History Month Event: Care of Photographic Materials.” Discussion will include learning how to protect your family’s photos and other heirlooms for future generations.
FARM MARKET SET: Howland Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Gazebo Park, East Market Street, Howland. Admission is free. The open-air market will feature farm fresh produce and specialty products, hand-crafted items by local artisans and live music. The event will be held rain or shine. HERBALIST TO SPEAK: The Champion Historical Society will offer a program by society member and acclaimed herbalist Joanne Green entitled, “Achoo / Herbs and Essential Oils for Fall and Winter” from 6:30 to 8 pm. Wednesday at the one room schoolhouse on state Route 305. A voluntary donation will be accepted. The program will provide ways to stave off colds, hold the sneezes and warm the chills of flu.
