Many think Ramaswamy's ad on Amy Acton crossed the line of decency. I don't. It strongly reflects how damaged a woman she really is. She is emotionally, socially, mentally unfit to be governor. She admitted she couldn't handle the demands as director of Ohio's Department of Health. How could she be governor? I blame the state's Democrat Party for selecting her. I feel sorry for Amy. The fault is with them.

Trump most likely has no idea how many "orders" or what he signed when he took office; after gutting almost all of NIH in 2025, he signed an order to reduce work on women' s health (which had been signed by Joe Biden in 2024). Yet, recently with his wife, he has now signed a new order for women's health. It is all a joke with this man. To him women are second-class citizens.

Oct. 26: "A great day for Warren"… Warren is moving forward." Ha! It's a "great day" because a pedestrian bridge is dedicated? Warren is "moving forward" because of a new span to nowhere? Warren will only move forward when we have high-paying jobs and when we have a new hospital -- neither of which is on the horizon. What a sad situation.

This has been the most despicable pre-election time ever! Whatever happened to campaigning on issues? Now, candidates of BOTH parties do nothing but sling mud at their opponents. Before voting, I decided to choose the person who had irritated me the least. Unfortunately, I couldn't decide; they all irritated me -- with outlandish speeches degrading others, with unceasing phone calls and with never-ending mailers. Yes, I voted, but I wasn't happy with the options I had. Surely, we can do better!

I'd like to know how many of the past and current members of Warren City Council who were against the pay raises actually collected or are collecting the current pay increase and how many of those individuals are donating the difference in pay to charitable organizations in the city. It would be interesting if the Tribune explored that avenue.

Does Anyone in Ohio Remember? Every political ad seems focused on calling Sherrod Brown corrupt, but where is the same scrutiny of Jon Husted? Have we forgotten the FirstEnergy scandal, one of the largest corruption cases in Ohio history? Republican leadership was deeply entangled in a scheme that sent a former House speaker to prison. Husted supported the legislation at its center and benefited from utility-backed political spending. He hasn't been charged with wrongdoing, but shouldn't Ohio voters demand answers instead of falling for one-sided attacks?

A recent editorial column defending the Warren pay raises praised every council ward except the Second Ward. Its councilwoman, Tina Milner, has a long record of accomplishments that deserves recognition. She directed the Weed and Seed program, ran the Warren Citizens Police Academy, and has led the Roosevelt Neighborhood Group for more than 20 years. Her community projects include neighborhood cleanups, a basketball court off Comstock, and a pocket park off Vernon Avenue. If every council member brought her drive and commitment to Warren, the city would be better for it.

From the Book of Exodus "Thus says the Lord: 'You shall not molest or oppress an alien, for you were once aliens yourself, if you ever wrong them and they cry out I will surely hear their cry"

Disgraceful! The statue depicting the WWII Battle of Iwo Jima was attacked by an illegal given DACA status by Obama and Biden. This man hates our country and did not assimilate to our values as many illegals in our country do not. He disrespected all who serve to protect American citizens. If he ever did this in a socialist or communist country, he would have been executed immediately; He's lucky he is just being deported.

Tonight I witnessed a high school game marred by severely one-sided officiating and unchecked dangerous play. Multiple players suffered injuries from takedowns without a single penalty, culminating in an ambulance ride while the referees remained completely unaware until alerted by the crowd. Parents and spectators are held to high standards of behavior, but we deserve a reasonably fair and safe game in return. Officials are responsible for player safety, and last night, they failed the kids.

Tribune Chronicle readers are fortunate to enjoy the works of Rick Muccio as the cartoonist on a weekly basis! He is incredibly talented and, depending on the topic, quite empathetic. Week after week, month after month, he captures the essence of local, state and national headlines. However, he may have reached the pinnacle with his rendering of the late Miriam Fife reuniting with her son Raymond in the Oct. 24 Tribune Chronicle. Well done, sir! Thank you for sharing your talent.

In the absolute ugliest event in the history of Ohio political campaigns, the Ramaswamy campaign fully admits it was behind the despicable ad exploiting the victim of a child rape (in this case Dr. Amy Acton). Just what kind of a man would stoop this low -- to use the words of a "mother" who would not stand up for her raped little girl? And how could he ever be trusted in any political office? Does character matter?

We hear a lot about affordability this election season. We all know gas prices are high. There's an interesting fact that most people probably don't know. Retail sales are up almost 10%. If people are struggling so much, why are they spending more. Maybe people should change how they spend if they're truly struggling.

Including the first four years, the president and his billionaire friends have been in charge approximately 2,080 days. If you vote for his rubber stampers one more time, and they win, he is going to give everybody various things, including money. And his good buddy, trillionaire Elon, is going to give every child in "Amerika" stock shares. I wonder why they waited 2,080 days? And you get a car, and you get a car, everybody gets a car.

A lady from Youngstown was on TV complaining about "broken window syndrome," cars parked on front lawns. Niles has the same problem, making the streets we live on look like trash. According to Ordinance 351.18, it is against the law. It states all motor vehicles have to be on approved hard surface, asphalt or concrete, strictly prohibiting parking on the front lawn or on any grass lawns. The fine is $15. A ton of money can be made for the police departments in a lot of surrounding cities -- especially Niles.

The Eastwood Mall Complex has, for several years, been experiencing an amazing rebirth of success and notoriety. The complex is in the top echelon of popularity and growth -- on a national scale -- as a shopping, dining and entertainment destination. I am not connected to Eastwood in any way except as a consumer, but I would like to make a suggestion. How about a Trader Joe's? These food stores are wildly popular, and the Mahoning Valley has certainly needed one for years. Mr. Cafaro, I hope you and your company are reading!
