NILES - Nancy A. Cicero, 98, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones, on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026.
Nancy was born Sept. 22, 1928, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Madeline Mollica Spinella. She was a 1946 graduate of Niles McKinley High School.
Nancy was married to Joseph J. Cicero and was his devoted and loving wife for 66 years. Together, they worked side by side in their family-owned grocery business, building a life centered on family, hard work and love.
Nancy shared kindness and love throughout her life. She especially enjoyed welcoming family and friends into her home, where her wonderful cooking and family gatherings created memories cherished by all. Some of her favorite moments included playing bridge or gin rummy with lifelong friends, watching football games and, of course, dancing through life with her forever prom date, Joe.
Nancy was involved in the Democratic Ladies Club, Niles Football Mothers Club and the Catholic Women’s Guild.
Nancy will be deeply missed by her daughter, Carla Cicero, and son, Joseph N. Cicero, both of Niles; her grandchildren, Nicholas Rose and JoAnna (Michael) Ciletti-Gombos, Robert Ciletti and Cara (Michael Tominey) Cicero; and great-grandchildren, Aniello Rose, Milania Prezioso, Joseph Prezioso and Monocco Tominey. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Joseph J. Cicero; her brother, Joseph Spinella; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, John and Ursula Cicero, Peter and Mary Cicero, and Vincent and Thelma DeMatteis; and former daughter-in-law, Connie Cicero.
Nancy was a lifelong member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2026, at St. Pope John XXIII Parish, Mount Carmel Church, Niles, with the Rev. Christopher Cicero officiating.
Nancy’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many loving ‘angels’ who were part of her care. Your kindness and compassion will always be remembered.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to St. Pope John XXIII Parish; the Antonine Sisters Adult Daycare; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; or any charitable organization close to your heart.
