NILES - Catherine Elizabeth Dooley, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, her daughter, Pam, was at her bedside.
She was born Jan. 16, 1943, in Bedford, Ohio, the daughter of John and Mary Laase.
Catherine was a member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish, Niles. She was a pharmacy tech for Troutman drug store for many years before retiring. She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, taking casino trips, cooking and baking homemade bread. She supported the military, as she was a dedicated military spouse.
Catherine cherished the time that she spent with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Catherine is survived by her son, Timothy (Nancy) Dooley of Berwick, Pa.; three daughters, Susan Domokos of Warren, Christine Dooley and Pam Dooley, both of Niles; her sister, Pat Evans of Warren; seven grandchildren, Desare (Nick), Elizabeth (Chalmer), Zachary, Caitlan, Mandi, Ryan (Jillean) and Sarah (Evan); and 22 great-grandchildren, Addison, Ezra, Reagan, Clarke, Grayson, Gabriel, Paisley, Ryleigh, Maddox, Johnathan, Samuel, Elliana, Jagguar, Ella, RJ (George), Eli, Suri, Margot, Jake, Emma, Chance and Quinn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hughston "Tom" Dooley Jr., whom she married Oct. 6, 1962, and passed Jan. 3, 2022.
A celebration of Catherine's life will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 5, 2026, at the American Legion Hall, 1029 Main St., Niles, OH 44446.
