Deloris Waddell 1941-2026

WARREN -- Deloris Waddell, 85, went home to be with the lord on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026.

She was born in Willard, Kentucky, on Aug. 24, 1941, a daughter to the late Orin and Gladys Adkins Waddell.

Deloris was a 1960 graduate of Clear Fork High School in Colcord, W.Va. She worked for Warren General Hospital for many years in the central supplies department until her retirement in 2002.

Deloris loved her Lord and Savior and was faithful in her church when she was able. She also loved traveling and her favorite trip was one she took to Israel with her mother and sister. She enjoyed reading, time with her family and taking vacations.

Deloris was an animal lover and her cats and dogs were her family. She was generous to a fault, a kindness lived within her and she would do anything for anyone. She will be deeply missed.

She leaves behind many to mourn her, including her brothers, Billy Waddell and Arvel (Juanita) Waddell; nieces, Beverly (Richard) Peffer, Donna Waddell, Karen (David) Goldberg, and Robin Waddell (Megan Hands); nephews, Brian (Pamela) Waddell, and Wayne (Donna) Waddell; 15 great-nieces and -nephews; and many great-great-nieces and -nephews.

Preceding her were her parents; her sisters, Alma and Maxine Waddell; and her sister-in-law, Ruth Waddell.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Gillette Nursing Home staff, nurses and nurses' aides and Akeso Hospice for their unwavering care and support.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026, with a service beginning at noon and burial to follow, at Crown Hill Burial Park Chapel and Mausoleum, Vienna.
