NEWTON FALLS -- Chad R. DeCost Sr., 53, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 8, 1972, in Warren, a son of the late Steven Patrick DeCost Sr. and Debra Jean Slyk DeCost.
Chad lived in Newton Falls for the last 18 years. He was formerly of Warren, where he graduated from John F. Kennedy High School, Class of 1991. He married the love of his life, Tamara Lynn Chandler, on Feb. 14, 2000, and they have enjoyed the past 26 years of marriage together.
Chad worked as a commercial salesman for O'Reilly's Auto Parts in Cortland for over 14 years. He was previously the owner and operator of DeCost's Seal Glaze in Warren for over 10 years.
Chad was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church in Niles. He enjoyed his cars, going to casinos, his dog, Harper, vacationing in Ocean City, Maryland, and most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Chad was preceded in death by his parents, Steven and Debra DeCost, and his grandparents, Robert and Norma Slyk.
He is survived by his wife, Tamara L. DeCost of Newton Falls; one daughter, Alexis (Landon) Antonell of Lordstown; one son, Chad DeCost Jr. of Newton Falls; one sister, Kristina Tominey; and one brother, Steven DeCost Jr. and family, all of Warren; and two grandchildren, Easton and Ruby.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, at the James Funeral Home, Newton Falls, with Pastor Roy Mack officiating.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026.
He will be laid to rest in Newton Falls Cemetery.
