MECCA - Carole E. Gladd, 83, passed away Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Carole was born on June 5, 1943, in Cleveland, a daughter of the late Emanuel and Marian Moeller Lucha. She was a graduate of Edgewood High School.
Carole lived her life with a radiant personality that matched her favorite outfits -- she truly sparkled. Above all else, she cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, loving every moment of raising and being with her family. She was happily married to her beloved husband, Thomas M. Gladd, for over 28 years until his passing in 2022.
Throughout her life, Carole dedicated herself as a loving stay-at-home mother while actively contributing to Thomas' boat repair and storage businesses. Additionally, she served as a volunteer in Mecca Township during her husband's time as trustee and enjoyed a successful 20-year career selling Avon products.
Carole had a joyful spirit and a fun-loving heart. She enjoyed tropical vacations and playing cards and dice. She was always eager to try something new. She had a special fondness for anything heart-shaped, bedazzled or sparkly.
Carole is survived by her loving children, Rick (Tarry) Palm of Geneva, Kevin Palm of Mecca, Melissa (Jim) Platt of Florida, Chuck (Julie Tucker) Palm of Mecca and Dan (Tara) Gladd of Mecca; six cherished grandchildren, Angela (Bob) McCormack, Randal (Kyla) Platt, Justin (Lorelei) Platt, Grace Palm, and Logan and Ryan Gladd; four great-grandchildren, Lyla, Madelyn, Marshal and Celeste Platt; and her brother, Don Lucha of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her infant son, Randy Palm.
