WARREN -- Sharon Elaine Fonnest, 80, of Warren, passed Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, surrounded by her family.
She was born Oct. 9, 1945, in Middlebourne, W.Va., the daughter of Clarence and Fannie Haught Clark.
She settled in Niles 60 years ago after marrying Norris "Ted" Fonnest 62 years ago. As matriarch, she was a strong, loving woman who instilled that strength in her three daughters, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. It truly made her happy to see her family happy and succeed.
Sharon was an avid reader, loved "Jeopardy!" and enjoyed relaxing on her porch in the summer after making a home-cooked meal. Her dog, Barkley, watched over her and cuddled with her and was of great comfort to her.
Sharon's memory will be cherished by her daughters, Michelle (John) Rutherford of Niles and Joy (Aaron) Natali of Niles; grandchildren, Kyle Jewell, Brianne Jewell, Alex Wedge, and Jenna and Joey Arbogast, whom she raised as her own children, Jade Natali, Cory Meyers and Aaron Natali Jr.; nine great-grandchildren; and siblings, Duane (Sue) Clark, Carolina Williams and Lewis (Susan) Clark.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norris "Ted" Fonnest, who passed away June 8, 2026; daughter, Kristina Jewell; siblings, Norma Fletcher and James (Rafella) Clark; and brother-in-law, Tom Williams.
No services will be held.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
