BRISTOLVILLE -- Mildred A. "Dolly" Yager, 89, passed away on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, at her home.
She was born July 25, 1937, in Opekiska, W.Va., the daughter of Worth and Bertha McCune Cottrell.
She loved to go shopping and garage saling for her collection of shoes, purses, perfume and jewelry. Dolly loved listening to bluegrass music. What meant the most to her was spending time with her family, sharing stories and making her guests feel welcomed and loved. Dolly was the second mother to all the neighborhood children and all her children's friends.
Dolly's memory will be cherished by daughters, Donna (Tom) Roth, Brenda (Jody) Osburn and Peggy (Donnie) Markley; sons, Timothy (Lavonda) Yager, Terry Yager, Tony Yager, Todd Yager, Michael (Ann) Styno and Mark Styno; sister, Linda "Darlene" Howell; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Yager; brothers, Willard "Bud" Cottrell and Virgil Cottrell; sisters, Mary Etta West Ashcraft, Ruth Gealy, Ruby Overmire, Sandra "Pauline" Payne and Wilma Lee Horn; nephew, Frank Styno; niece, Jodie K. Styno Marshall; and grandsons, Tommy Roth, Travis Eakin and Clayton Osburn.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at Bristolville Community Church.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at the church.
Interment will be in Sager Memorial Cemetery, Bristolville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
