CORTLAND -- Lorraine B. Laney, 97, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, at Clearview Lantern Suites.
She was born Feb. 6, 1929, in Meadville, Pa., the daughter of George and Edna Fredrich Bradway.
Lorraine was a graduate of Sagertown High School in Pennsylvania and was employed as an operator on the Index Line at Packard Electric for 25 years.
She was a member of SCOPE and enjoyed playing bingo, bocce ball and cornhole, and she was a huge Steelers fan. In her younger years, she enjoyed riding horses, riding motorcycles, and playing volleyball and basketball.
Lorraine is survived by her daughters, Darlene Thomas of Florida and Kathleen Potter of Georgia; son, Warren Laney Jr., also of Georgia; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Laney Sr.; daughter, Valerie Harper; grandson, Warren W. Laney III; and siblings, Betty McQueen, Shirley Mumford, Marvin Bradway and Stanley Bradway.
A celebration of life will be held in March 2027.
The family requests any material contributions be made in her memory to SCOPE centers in Howland or Warren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
