WARREN -- Lorin Donzel Dickinson III, 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born April 12, 1950, in Meadville, Pa., Lorin lived a full and vibrant life rooted in family, faith, laughter and service to others.
A 1968 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, Lorin was an exceptional athlete whose talent and passion for golf earned him a scholarship to play at The Ohio State University. He was so gifted in his golf skill that he was still shooting under par into his 70s. His love for the game remained with him throughout his life, as did his lifelong devotion to the Buckeyes.
First and foremost, Lorin was a devoted family man. He shared a beautiful and loving life with his cherished wife, Linda, and was an endlessly proud father and grandfather. His family was his greatest source of pride and joy, and the time he spent with those he loved meant more to him than anything.
Lorin's deep faith was at the heart of the way he lived and served others. An active and beloved member of Highway Tabernacle, he served on the church board. He also generously shared his musical talents as a member of the worship team, participated in the church's annual Passion play and performed as part of the musical ensemble "Men In Black."
He also had a heart for helping others and dedicated his time and energy to Relay For Life and the pregnancy help center, causes that were especially meaningful to him.
Lorin will be remembered for his bright spirit, ready smile and unwavering devotion to his faith, family and friends. His joyful presence will be deeply missed, but the love he shared and his legacy of faith and service will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
Lorin was preceded in death by his parents, Lorin Dickinson II and Edna Mae Dickinson, and his sisters, Patricia Frantz and Sandra Liberatore.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Dickinson; his three children, Chris Dickinson and his wife, Rebecca, Jill Basile and her husband, R.J., and Lorin Dickinson IV and his wife, Brittany; his eight cherished grandchildren, Alex, Paige, Grace, Rocco, Archer, Hailey, Sydney, and Lorin V; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, at Highway Tabernacle, 3000 S. Raccoon Road, Youngstown, OH 44515. A celebration of life service will begin at noon. Lorin will be laid to rest in Niles Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made, in Lorin's memory, to Highway Tabernacle.
