NILES -- John Patrick Cullivan, 73, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday morning, Sept. 15, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, of a heart ailment.
He was born Jan. 22, 1953, in Warren, the son of Carl and Valeria Schneider Cullivan.
He was a 1971 graduate of Warren John F. Kennedy High School and also received an associate degree from Kent State University.
He worked for over 40 years as a power assembly supply technician at Ajax TOCCO Magnethermic Corp. in Warren and retired in 2024.
He was a member of St. Pope John XXIII-St. Stephen Church, where he served as an eucharistic minister and an altar server.
John was a skilled marksman and member of the Vienna Fish and Game Club. A farmer at heart, he also enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
John is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mary Jane Bloomis Cullivan, whom he married on Nov. 9, 1974; two sons, Patrick (Julia) Cullivan of Strongsville and Brian (Marci) Cullivan of Canfield; five grandchildren, Casey, Ethan, Sarah, Sol and Addy; siblings, Jacqueline (Jim) Satterfield of Howland, Tom (Katie) Cullivan of Columbus and Caroline (Bruce) Bollman of Cincinnati.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, JoAnne Sharpe, George Cullivan, Kathleen Woodward and Jerry Cullivan.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at St. Stephen Church, preceded by a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Stephen Church.
