SOUTHINGTON -- Janine Rae Butcher Wilcox, 72, of Southington, passed away peacefully in her sleep at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026.
Janine was born June 26, 1954, in Warren, a daughter of Frank and Marion Murray Butcher.
She was employed as a cashier at St. Joseph Warren Hospital for 32 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who touched the lives of many. She was married to the late Brent Wilcox and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Survivors include her only son, Scott Wilcox Sr., and her beloved pup, Snowman; two grandsons, Scott "Scooter" Wilcox Jr. and Tyler Wilcox; three sisters, Mary "Cookie" Yoho (Larry), Cindy Herman and Jackie Bulic (the late Fred); and four brothers, Frank Butcher (Denise), the late Douglas Butcher (Charlene), Mike Butcher (the late Kim), and Greg Butcher. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Janine was preceded in death by her husband, Brent Wilcox; her parents, Frank and Marion Butcher; her brother, Douglas Butcher; her sister-in-law, Kim Butcher; her brother-in-law, Fred Bulic; and her beloved pup, Goliath.
Cremation has taken place, according to Janine's wishes.
Janine will be remembered for the love she gave, the laughter she shared and the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
