KINSMAN -- James Fay Betts, 69, formerly of Kinsman, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, at his home in Newton Falls, following a long battle with cancer.
Born May 21, 1957, he was the son of Fay A. Betts Jr. and Shirley Frank Root.
Jim attended Joseph Badger High School and worked as a mechanic for Scofield Repair in Warren for several years.
He enjoyed being outdoors, working on lawnmowers, tractors and motorcycles. He loved old cars and going to the drag races, but, most of all, he lived to ride his Harley.
He will be sadly missed by his sister, Denise (Leigh) Collins of Hartford; son, James T. Betts of Vernon; daughters, Brandy Williams of Vernon and Jamie Mauldin of Holton, Kansas; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother.
A special thank you to Patriot Hospice, along with his neighbors, Danny and Kaitlyn, for their compassion and care during this difficult time.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public services.
Interment will be in Kinsman Cemetery, Kinsman.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
