BURGHILL -- Herbert H. Barber Jr., 87, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 20, 2026, at home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 11, 1939, in Warren, the son of Herbert H. Barber Sr. and Dorothy May Hoehn Barber.
Herbert retired as a machinist in 2001 after working 41 years at WCI. He was also a farmer when he wasn't working at WCI.
He was a member of the Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Carpenter Barber, whom he married Nov. 18, 1966; two daughters, Diane Barber of Hartford and Sandra Barber of Simpsonville, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Katie and Brady Messer; a sister, Kathleen (Warren) Kalmar of Cortland; and a niece, Jessica Kalmar and her husband, David Dulick.
At his request, there will be no public services. A private service for the family will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the giver's favorite charity in his name.
