WEST FARMINGTON -- Gregory M. Kovalchick, 64, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
He was born May 2, 1962, in Warren, the son of George and Patricia Seger Kovalchick.
Gregory retired as a sanitarian and solid waste management director at the Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District.
He loved his children very much and enjoyed helping them buy their homes and do repairs and updates. He loved animals and rescued several cats and dogs. He loved spending time with his dogs. He loved the outdoors, and when he couldn't be outside, he could be found puzzling or cooking.
He had a big personality and was often the life of the party. He was a kind and loving man who also cherished his friends and regarded some like sons. He often had a lasting impact on those he met; the light he brought into the world will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy J. Fomich Kovalchick of West Farmington, whom he married Sept. 21, 1985; son, Nicholas Kovalchick of Warren; daughter, Christie Kovalchick of Ashtabula; and brother, George A. Kovalchick of Worthington, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There are no services.
