ANDOVER -- Betty Jean Alderman, 88, of Andover, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026.
Betty was born Feb. 21, 1938, in Evergreen, Alabama, a daughter of the late Malcom Lloyd and Letha Mae Salter Waters.
Betty worked as a home health care aide, dedicating much of her life to caring for others.
She was an active member of Andover Christian Church and enjoyed fellowship with the church's God's Girls group.
Betty was also involved with the Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and served her community as a firefighter and EMT. She shared her knowledge and experience with others by teaching EMT classes and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Betty loved crafts and cooking and especially enjoyed sharing with others and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Alderman; her children, Kathy (Norman) Yannucci, Dave Alderman and Rick Alderman; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Malcom Lloyd and Letha Mae Salter Waters; and her granddaughter, Angela Cameron.
Private services will be held by the family.
